Aaron Swartz, R.I.P. - Former Internet Activist

Post by tbieter »

One year ago today, Aaron Swartz committed suicide. He had been charged with committing thirteen felonies regarding stealing academic journal articles by computer. In the plea bargaining, the U.S. Attorney insisted that he plead to felonies (not any misdemeanor) and serve some time in incarceration.

Today's show on DemocracyNow was devoted to his remembrance.
http://www.democracynow.org/ I thought that the show was really superficial. Amy Goodman did not ask any fundamental questions.
On the show, his girlfriend quotes Swartz as saying "I don't want to be happy. I want to change the world."

Having sold an internet company, he was wealthy. He was well-established in his activism. He had a girlfriend. He had everything: wealth, celebrity, love.

Why did he commit suicide?
What does his statement suggest about one's interior life, about political activism, about his religious views?
Any other comments will be welcome.

It's a stunt to boost ratings for DemocracyNow and the Liberals, and it's more so to uphold the illusion of transparency in such an unjust world. DemocracyNow, much like that fake activist Aaron Swartz, are gatekeepers, as they do not expose or go deep into the Progressive paradigm. The same people who fit in the gatekeeper/charlatan syndicate are Alex Jones, David Icke, and friends.

Anyone who claims justice yet is rich and makes money off of it are to be avoided, as real activists are those who are either overlooked or shunned and suppressed.

Why did he commit suicide?
How did he commit suicide? That might be a start.

As example, if he used a gun he already owned, it could have been an impulsive act by an overactive young mind.

If he had to buy a gun first, and perhaps go through a waiting period, that indicates more thought was given to the decision.

Did his death involve pre-planning, or could it have been done on the spur of the moment?

Yearh, seems like the most plausible answer.

Anyone who is a too big nuisance to the US gov has a nasty habbit of committing sudden suicide.

Like all the US presidents who wanted to dissolve the Federal Reserve Bank, has all been assassinated. JFK was the last president who tried it.
