What in the world happened to this thread? Parchments? Six secrets? (... a virgin?)

Why the surprise? You're supposed to partially moderate your own threads if you don't like them.

I think it's pretty straight forward to observe that philosophy serves to answer how best the "purpose" of the human brain can be consciously effected. Do you see how the third bullet point must be immediately met with the question how can the survival and sustenance of the human body best be accomplished? And that the answer to that question precedes an experiment? There's also the question of continuation of the species so that the purpose in the third bullet point perhaps becomes not only the survival and sustenance of the human body but the creation of offspring and the continuation of the species. This leads to more challenging questions. How do we ensure the human race gets carried forward... The survival of the individual versus the continuation of the species. There is much that math can reduce a situation to (and I don't mean that in a pessimistic sense) but there remains the problem of the interference of multiple wills. Is all of this too unclear? I hope there can be a response.... Perhaps the thread was not intended to dismiss philosophy but instead to let off the steam of pent up irritation? We'll see.
