The war on Christmas is over. I won. He laid down his turkey-carcass upon my doorstep and paid obeisance. I stepped over the prostrate wretch and went shopping.

The past 10 days or so have seen an evergreen centerpiece cheer up our table as long as I spray water on it daily. It's a carcass of dead branches, and none are holly! Cheerio!
