The corrupt ideology of combining corporate greed & theology

Is there a God? If so, what is She like?

The corrupt ideology of combining corporate greed & theology

Post by FrankGSterleJr »

‘Ideology trumping scientific research findings,’ is one version of a popular topic headline that's currently frequently in the news, both here in Canada and across the globe.
I feel that it’s not so much that ‘ideology’ is overruling science when it comes to threatened eco-system habitats of, for example, wild fish stocks. Rather, it may be more that theologically-based perspectives are trumping science, with religion-prone governments at various nations’ political helms.
Frequently, eco-concerned citizens only need look at the often dangerous, frightening anti-science thinking and policies of their own prime minister and/or president, who, for example, may be avidly practicing Bible believers.
In the case of Biblical convictions, if Scriptural teachings and proclamations are any indication, healthy and pristine Earthly eco-systems, the latter which is generally well-aligned with scientific caution, are apparently pretty much dispensable. For, according to the Book of Revelations, Earth is to eventually, or even imminently, be laid waste for a considerable period of time—if not permanently.
So, really, why the hell worry about an unhealthy state of the planet’s environment—especially when there are so many jobs to be had?

You don't know anything about the book of Revelation or the explanatory "The Ouzo Prophecy," and even less about your so-called "corporate greed."

a minor nitpick if i may

the problem is not with theology but rather lack of theology

in the usa the christian fundamentalists reject not just science, but also theology - and so are ignorant not just about science but about their own religion

Again, you don't know anything about the book of Revelation, my friend. It is allegorical like "The Ouzo Prophecy," and not meant to be taken literally.
