Really, There are several light fixtures in my house that use the newer florescent light bulbs that plug in rather than screw in. It's possible that these particular surrealists are living in the 21st century and not in the dark ages.

Again, I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure there were no light bulbs in the dark ages. Besides, it was dark....

Probably because all the light bulbs had burnt out by then. Do you believe it was dark in the day time? or just at night?

Wow.

Okay, let's change "plug" to "screw," just to please the literalists.

IC, Applied Ethics is a fine topic, but I could discuss the intricacies of light bulbs all night. Is there a more powerful metaphysical symbol? First there was dark, then there wasn't ....

Okay, another philosophy joke:

A Pantheist walks into a sandwich shop, and says,

"Hey, Mac...make me one with everything."

People with funny names make me chuckle, my favourite is an actual person with a profile on LinkedIn called Phil Mc'krackin.

I had a student who was born into the Rhoads family and they named him Dusty. Some parents are really thoughtless that way.
