How did Einstein arrive at Time in SRT ?
How did Einstein arrive at Time in SRT ?
How did Einstein arrive at Time in SRT ?
=.
Thinking about why photon has constant speed Einstein
decided that something must be happened with the space and time.
And then (to have time) he took distance ( d=vt ) and divided on
constant speed of quantum of light (c) and had negative time
(t =d/c=1/ 3 X 10^8 meters/second) . Later Minkowski (trying to understand
SRT ) took this negative time as a positive (! ) geometrical 4D- dimension (!)
and gave his math-geometrical interpretation.
In the beginning many physicists said that it is impossible to 1 second
be equal to 1 centimeter or 1 meter, or as someone wrote:
1 second = 1 second to you whether you are travelling at 40mph,
or 400,000,000mph. But this abstraction somehow was adopted.
Why this idea was adopted? Maybe because of its beauty.
One physicist said me : it is impossible to be physicist
if you don’t understand the beauty of Minkowski SRT explanation .
Maybe, he is correct on 100% , but there is a very small problem:
nobody knows what Minkowski space is.
About 2500 years ago Plato wrote:
‘. . by Beauty that beautiful things are beautiful . . .
by largeness that large things are large and larger things larger,
and by smallness that smaller things ate smaller . . . .
. . . by tallness one man is taller than another . . .
. . . . and the shorter is shorter by the same ; . . . . . ‘
In my opinion in physics we have situation . . .
. . . ‘ by Beauty that beautiful things are beautiful . .’
Every math beauty must have its own concrete physical and geometrical
parameters. Without these precise physical details we have a pure
mathematical game and many paradoxes in physics.
Therefore more than 100 years the debates around SRT have no end.

Re: How did Einstein arrive at Time in SRT ?
I have asked myself that.
How did he know?
Imagination.
He thought in realms so far above me i feel like a 3 year old.
Everyone has a skill. even if that skill seems meager.
Einstein was THE skill of conceptual cosmology/physics~ science and understanding how reality worked.
Many have equaled this but were born in wrong place and 'time'.
Not since Newton has such a mind been.
I consider myself blessed to live in an age where his ideas are held as truth.

Re: How did Einstein arrive at Time in SRT ?
The information about Einstein’s negative time I took from a book.
( this book was written in 1923 by Russian physicist Khvolsky (?)
I have it copy in my house but now I am far away )
Does somebody have other information about how negative time
in physics was arrived?

and nether is local library in this town.
this is why the net exists..information.
it started as a link between scientists..look at it now

Question: According to Einstein can the time be negative?Hjarloprillar wrote:sorry socrtus but my library is not so specific.socratus wrote:The information about Einstein’s negative time I took from a book.

My answer:
In SRT is possible to see a negative time as :
x=ct or x=-ct in the Lorentz transformations.

greets
well as a definite nonmath person [sorry] i still can think.
in prev post your x=ct?
what is c and what is t
interpolation in average understanding to some knowledge.
suggests t = time [that was hard lol] and c is standard for sol.. And i had to use interpolate somewhere in my life.
i figured if i used it in conversation over nature of relativity it would slide right in.
truely in observation of all i know of reality and our theories.
i'm dumbstruck.
there is just SO MUCH we do not understand.
And there, is the meaning of life. to find out.
c'mon you apes. think.

i actually just posted this on a site

Re: How did Einstein arrive at Time in SRT ?
Physicists invented negative time and then try to understand its existence.
Time exists only in the third dimensional gravity reality ( like planets )
Time exists only as a result of the process which was explained in SRT and GRT .
Time doesn't exist outside third dimensional gravity reality.

people say to me ' you cant do that'
i can if i can and time spent cannot be regained.
if i am killed by pushing duke to 260 kph on backroads [so be it].

in rl with right tires it stiks to road like glue
when i do/ride such i think..' is this last seconds'.. time...........
i 'got time' for free.
nothing reality can do can touch me after 'my' time runs out.
i choose to be moral/ethical and think. this while having no effect on final sate.
seems best.
generalism works
and an aphorism. applies
death is easy.
life and existing 'in time' is not so much.
time i have been fascinated with since i was 7 or so.
over 4 decades of reading and observation. it drives [the question]
time dilation was a turning. an epiphany.
the fundamental question is not god.. it is time.
people say
time is time so what.
i ask and what is time?

Re: How did Einstein arrive at Time in SRT ?
OP if you are suggesting that "beauty" = truth, then you are dead wrong and 1 expample doesn't make all beauties right.
Hawkings was famous for a beautiful equation, which he later ditched himself.
