Could You Sell EVERY Possession You Own?

Are there certain possessions that own you?

Are there certain possessions that own you that you cannot part with?

If you could sell all the possessions you own, would that provide an opportunity to be a better philosopher?

Can any of us answer honestly to these questions?

Do we own our thoughts?

Are articulations possessions?

If necessary.
Are there certain possessions that own you?
No.
Are there certain possessions that own you that you cannot part with?
No, but I have a few that hold great sentimental value.
If you could sell all the possessions you own, would that provide an opportunity to be a better philosopher?
No, it might provide an opportunity to be a buddhist.
Can any of us answer honestly to these questions?
Yes.
Do we own our thoughts?
No, we are, in a large part, our thoughts.
Are articulations possessions?
No, they are expressions of thoughts.

Wow.

Thank you for responding.

I thought this is an excellent topic
but apparently not.

Perhaps I asked too many questions...too broad of scope.

Anyway, thanks again.

Point well taken...

So you mean like, Mahatma Gandhi

I OWN NOTHING

.............................................................Image

...or the enlightened philosopher Ramana Maharshi who lived much of his life not officially owning anything and died with nothing.

...like that you mean?

Are you following their example? Or is this like your failed attempt to follow the Buddha just another example of trite and pointless thought by a westerner who refuses to read western philosophy whilst extolling something that he fails to practice.

Look...there's a time you close the books.

I was, and continue to be, EXTREMELY fortunate.
FORTUNATE BEYOND BELIEF.

I was EXTREMELY lucky to have my intuition and hard work ethic lead me to a philosophical goldmine of being.

I cannot defend or prove what happened to me
but suffice to say I was extremely enlightened BEYOND BELIEF.

Words, books, study of other individuals is at most a fleeting interest for me now. Has been ever since my enlightenment in my late teens or early twenties.

I can't mask or dress-up my perspective. It is what it is and I feel only sorrow for you and others who's intuition has not brought them to a quantum, deeper understanding.

I feel sorry for you in the world of words.
Sorrow.

I wish you nothing but luck
, urge you to follow your intuition and continue to work hard. Good luck.

It's done you no favours then as according to you, you are depressed, have no idea who you are, no idea what you think and have spent the last few decades fruitlessly trying to recreate the experience.
Words, books, study of other individuals is at most a fleeting interest for me now. Has been ever since my enlightenment in my late teens or early twenties.
This is what I mean! Your posts are of other individuals thoughts and ideas!! Not your own 'enlightenment' at all.
I can't mask or dress-up my perspective. It is what it is and I feel only sorrow for you and others who's intuition has not brought them to a quantum, deeper understanding.
You can't even describe your perspective nor provide any means to obtain it. You are in a long-line of western gnus aping the easterners to no great effect.

lmao that you use the word "quantum", pretty much the sign of the gnu.
I feel sorry for you in the world of words. Sorrow.
Save it for yourself as you clearly need it.

'World of words'
I wish you nothing but luck, urge you to follow your intuition and continue to work hard. Good luck.[/size]
What a wanker you are. Save your platitudes for someone stupid enough to believe your facade.

Not sure where you're going with this...

You're loosing your facade as a true philosopher.

Perhaps it's a good time to drop the hate?

To Bill Wiltrack

I will rephrase , though I should not need to :

Possessions contribute to the lives of many.

You are not going to change what's wrong with your world by packing your stuff in a Tea Chest.

Just replying to your post. As I did to your original one but you chose to ignore my replies rather than engage.
You're loosing your facade as a true philosopher.
lmao! So now I have at least the facade of being a 'true philosopher'. By the by, this phrase 'true philosopher' is also a sign of the gnu.

Perhaps it's a good time to drop the hate?

You think to much of yourself. I just think you antithetical to Philosophy.
All the best to you.

I already told you. Not "hate", you think too much of yourself. It's that I find you antithetical to Philosophy.
