Why should the West want a war in Syria ?

It sounds like the theory that the CIA arranged 9/11 to happen.

Why should the West want a war in Syria ?
I don't know, a re-structuring of the middle east, why wouldn't they?

What's 'alternative' about this link?

It doesn't say what the mainstream papers/media (UK/US) say, they say that Assad used the gas, right? That's why they're going in, no? I see the text in the link as an alternative reading to the mainstream press. Good?

The US want to re-balance the scale between Al Assad military forces and the armed rebels on the ground and let the self-destruction process ongoing in Syria . In addition , if Al Assad managed to win the conflict , that would be a big slap on the US administration and western regimes .

Recently, governmental military forces started to advance and win ground in many areas such as Al Qusayr , countryside of Damascus , parts of Aleppo and others . And according to various sources of media there is a progress achieved by governmental forces .
