Anxiety of Dying
Re: Anxiety of Dying
I don't see death at the end of life but right here now. So we are very familiar with it and its mystery. I think one spent have to wait to fulfill curiousity about death. Not to mean suicide but just facing it with all one has. Pain? What's that?

Wiki
Death is the permanent cessation of all biological functions that sustain a particular living organism.
Phenomena which commonly bring about death include biological aging (senescence), predation, malnutrition, disease, suicide, murder and accidents or trauma resulting in terminal injury. Bodies of living organisms begin to decompose shortly after death. There is no evidence that consciousness survives the death of an organism
In human societies, the nature of death and humanity's awareness of their own mortality has for millennia been a concern of the world's religious traditions and of philosophical inquiry.
This includes belief in resurrection (associated with Abrahamic religions), reincarnation or rebirth (associated with Dharmic religions), or that consciousness permanently ceases to exist, known as oblivion.
Many are me i think, death holds little fear.. I, worry of dying, with some sort of dignity. one imagines a quick passing in bed . not being set afire and screaming or being chewed on by an alien.
dying with tool in a a girl is good.,[not for her tho]
with tool torn off by dogs. not so good.
We MUST die. it is nature. stars die so who are we to argue.
every heavy element that is life on earth and earth itself is made in a star that died.
they gave everything to us. we see them as little light in sky
religion and it's eternal life is so hilarious it is almost sickening.
the church should die just for that one great lie.

Re: Anxiety of Dying
Well I see that anyone can think anything, that there is no necessary accounting for the ammunition of words, as I usually only feel like I'm using a pea shooter. You see the actual meaning of ones words is often lost, especially if too few are used, as many then fill in what they see as blanks. Make no mistake, I care about all that face cancer. But I can fight, with words, that some may see as really nasty, while I don't. Maybe my inability to see as they do, is due to my true feelings on the matter.Hjarloprillar wrote:So now spheres . Maybe this is a better time.
The anxiety of dying.
In earlier posts you "assaulted"
As in one man facing a tiger tank assault with 3 rounds in bolt action riffle.
[im a drama philosopher]
quote
----------------------------------------------
"No Prill, the REAL question is, "which is the act and which is the real me?" In the end we can only believe what we choose to believe. If I hurt you then maybe I have that coming, but I think you know the real truth, as far as my empathy is concerned. But you can choose to treat me however you will. You have to watch me though, I do sometimes take cheap shots, here and there, when I feel my opponent is being unfair in their assessment of my words.
Don't provide ammo then cry when I shoot you with it. I only ever provide 'shapes' as I have already emptied the powder.

one bows to benevolent dis-interest.
Mnay would say your comments on this thread are appalling lack of fineness and brian.
I however like your style as much as you have one,.
Re: Anxiety of Dying
I don't think death is anything more than change though. Don't believe in any ultimate nothing state - not evidenced.
Re: Anxiety of Dying
Near-death experiences are one source of information about what to expect. Admittedly, they are subject to skepticism, but for those inclined to believe, they are remarkably consistent. - CWsaber125 wrote:No one of us has experienced dying !! and no one died and come again to tell us what was his feeling before he died !!! However, that dead person, for sure he got a special feeling, or some strange thoughts crossed his mind !! ( before he died ), for instance, let say he thought about going to school naked !! or writing with a cigarette instead of a pen !! we do not know ( no one can tell us his story !! he is the only one who can do that !! but he died already) !! so the question is : Do there exist common thoughts that cross all persons before they die ???? For me I've got an anxious feeling !! in particular, when I ask myself ' Ah the thing that I'm thinking about now or my feeling right now might be the same as dead people thought about or felt before !!!!

Re: Anxiety of Dying
We see death everyday.
Trees die, birds die, (where are they when they die, considering there are so many of them, one would expect the ground to be literally covered with them), flowers we buy die, we see them wither away, our families and friends die, our pets die and eventually we die, so why do we not accept easily our own deaths. It is there before us on a daily basis, yet we live as if we will be here forever. Why aren't we programmed to die on a "use by date", similar to the way we calculate the likely day we will be born.
Or is our date of death already programmed inside us and why don't we know it.

Because they rot and are consumed very quickly, also few die of old-age but are eaten.reasonvemotion wrote:We see death everyday.

Exactly because we can conceive of the possibility.flowers we buy die, we see them wither away, our families and friends die, our pets die and eventually we die, so why do we not accept easily our own deaths. ...
Because to conceive of being dead is inconceivable as it's 'being' dead.It is there before us on a daily basis, yet we live as if we will be here forever.
We think we are are, they're called telomeres. Why aren't we programmed to die on a "use by date", similar to the way we calculate the likely day we will be born.

A potato is not aware of its being in the world.
Therefore it does not exist. It is only there. (Kirkegaard´s view, as explained on the radio recently)
Its "death" is nothing to it.
It is different with us human beings.
We are aware of a personal film coming to an end.
Until we die we are able to influence this film.
Dying is like losing power over one´s own life film.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Is a life without bullying a sweet illusion ?
Can those who do not feel up to it and are disgusted by it escape it somehow ?
Escape it into a marriage with a cocky mate who does the bullying for both of them ?
Exposure to bullying can make one feel like leaving the film.
