Because they are British bob.

It's why we went there in the first place, the oil is just an afterthought(unlike the Yanks thoughts), we'd have gone regardless as we have this strange thing about dictators invading our citizens.

It's also why we fought American sponsored terrorism in Ireland for decades.
England just wants to hang on to every little piece of land it controls, hoping that its stupid empire of yesteryear can somehow be resurrected.

What a ridiculous little man you are. As if we have any such aspirations. In Ireland e fought American sponsored terrorism because a large chunk of the population wished to stay under British Democracy and not, as they saw it, under Catholic theocracy. Like Ireland you'll find that sooner or later we'll come to an agreement with Argentina but that'll be through negotiation not invasion. Unless of course the oil comes through then we'll act the Yank.

England has its own problems that will never be solved with royalty or socialism, but here's a suggestion, why don't you go invade the Pitcairn Islands while you're at it.

Why don't we? Because they are British Overseas Territories. They chose to remain when the Empire dissolved. So if invaded by an American supported dictator then we'd have to do it all over again. It's called honouring your agreements.

Parliamentary Democracy and Royalty was the solution to some serious problems in England.

What problems is it that you think we've got that socialism nor royalty could solve?

Socialism and royalty are your problems, my friend, and that's why England will always be a second-rate country.

 by what standards? Still, if it means I can walk freely in most areas, not have to worry about loons with guns, get healthcare when I need it, drink pretty much when I like then I'll take second-rate any day.

You forgot to add letting the government rob Peter to pay Paul.

Taxation isn't robbery bob, it's the price one pays for having a civilized society. And in my case I pay pretty much the same tax-rate as I'd pay in the States but from my point of view I get a more civilised society.

There is nothing wrong with taxation if it's a single ad valorem tax on property, but when the government forcibly takes money from one person to give to somebody else, this is something the police would throw you in jail for if you did it yourself. What you are saying is that the most unspeakable crimes are OK if they're committed by the government. What a pathetic political philosophy you and your socialist friends have!
