We live in a multidimensional continuum.

In every moment there is, what we perceive to be, an infinity of possibilities and elements within those moments.

Whenever Organized Labor is introduced into a moment, that moment, becomes inherently better.

Can you be more specific? I have little sympathy for the PATCO crew because they knew going in that striking was illegal, period. Can you imagine Ike telling FDR on June 5, 1944 that "we're not going?"

Please, let's get to the bottom line. If I personally can't get the government to force a company to deal with me, why should a union be able to?

I am so glad that you asked me this question and gave me an opportunity to introduce another element into this thread.

I discovered a new form of union organizing and I call it, The Way.

I KNOW YOU WILL ENJOY BROTHER!

THE WAY
SELF-PERFECTION THROUGH THE ART OF ORGANIZED LABOR

There is an inherent, inseparable good within Organized Labor.

Although at first glance the words Organized Labor and self-perfection may not seem to be congruent. The art of Organized Labor can and will lead you to self-perfection if you believe in the inherent good found within Organized Labor.

The Way is the third form of union organizing. It is a system of organizing oneself from the inside-out. Following The Way union organizing system provides the knowledge, understanding, and ability to allow one to transform their life and change their reality. In this way, through conscious effort, the discipline of Organized Labor can lead to self-perfection in one’s lifetime.

Below is a linear case in point.

Whenever the presence of Organized Labor is infused within a reality the moments become inherently better.

For an example, four individuals are sitting around a table together at a local pub eating and drinking.

There is a difference as to whether these four are members of a free, independent, recognize labor agreement or if they are not represented by a union at their place of work.

If the four individuals are members of a union, all other factors remaining constant, the moments will be inherently better than if they were four non-union employees.

We know that these four union members receive the highest wage and benefit package negotiable in the area for the work that they perform. Thus they should be more apt to feel more free to socialize and less concerned with the prices on the menus.

If the four are sitting in a union built building this could indicate a more better – more perfect, reality for this could reflect that the area has a heavy influence of union related jobs promoting a stable living environment with a thriving local government.

Should the four customers that we are picturing were enjoying foods and beverages that were produced and sold using workers that were part of a collective bargaining agreement this too would infuse a more perfect moment in a more perfect world. There is serenity, calm, and binding hope in knowing that other individuals, in their world, could be enjoying the most benefit and opportunity within their moments in their realities earning at least a prevailing wage.

If this particular table of four were being served by individuals that were members of an AFL-CIO recognized association like UNITE HERE this too would be a more perfect reality in knowing that service workers are, in this envisioned reality, able to make a living wage engaging in an extremely demanding job.

Our group of four would be enjoying a more better – more perfect reality if one or more of the four made the conscious effort of wearing union made clothing as opposed to if they were supporting companies that openly exploited workers located in the country that paid the lowest wages in exchange for work done in relation to that particular service.

Mentally, physically and emotionally our four friends consciously maintain a positive composure towards the concepts and contracts of Organized Labor this too would infuse a more perfect effect into their moments.

If our four associates were practicing members of The Way union organizing system they could correctly identify their direct relationship to Organized Labor in every moment of their evening and throughout their individual lives. Their individual efforts to transform their outer life through their outer recognition of an inner belief they could guide themselves towards self-perfection…

With conscious effort The Way union organizing system has the ability to transform one’s life from the inside-out.

The Way form of union organizing can lead an individual to self perfection…

All of us live within a multidimensional continuum and for some who are mentally and emotionally prepared, there is but one filter to make one’s life better, more perfect, and that is the concepts and contracts found within existing Organized Labor agreements.

When following The Way linear travel is imperceptible; nonexistent.

The only travel perceptible is when we are able to consciously change our life path.
The only travel is when we move either closer to or further from the concepts and contracts of Organized Labor.

Through The Way, union organizing system we are able to consciously understand our position in relation to the concepts and contracts of Organized Labor in each of our moments and thus move within this continuum.

This is a brief explanation of a facet of The Way union organizing system.

This is not the system.

There is one question you can ask yourself if you have read this far, “Do you believe in the inherent good of Organized Labor?”

Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to share these important concepts with you upon this Ethernet.

You have made my month!

...and um, you can answer the question now. Inside of yourself of course...

Bill, I'm sure you're familiar with the term "featherbedding." We have unions to thank for introducing that word into the English language.

feath·er·bed·ding
[feth-er-bed-ing]

noun
the practice of requiring an employer to hire unnecessary employees, to assign unnecessary work, or to limit production according to a union rule or safety statute: Featherbedding forced the railroads to employ firemen on diesel locomotives.

Origin:
1920–25; feather + bedding

Then you must think it's OK for a Mafia godfather union boss to figuratively tell a business owner that either his signature or his brains are going to be on that contract.

Read the rest of the sentence. My original statement does not have a period there.

Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to misrepresent your position. Let me print your full sentence: "At the end of the day I am pro-union, but at the same time very aware that public unions sometimes forget their obligation to serve the public first and foremost, and can suffer from human greed too." I guess what you're saying is that you don't have a problem with non-public unions figuratively telling a business owner that either his signature or his brains are going to be on that contract.

This has become a fabulous thread.

I want to especially thank both of youand everyone else who participated or viewed this thread, for allowing me the opportunity to attempt to express deep, deep feelings within my soul in relation to my personal religion, Organized Labor.

This thread has gone way beyond my expectations.

Punctuation; who needs it? You guess wrong.

If you're pro-union, you obviously support their strong-arm tactics, or am I missing something here?

Here's what you are missing: when you say I "obviously support strong-arm tactics" you couldn't be further from the truth. What did I write in response to your analogy of the union boss threatening to scatter the brains of a business owner on the contract if the latter refuses to sign? I called him a thug. When I say I'm "pro-union," you seem to equate this with Bill's position of 100% support of any union anywhere; no questions asked. He calls it his "religion" does he not? To me, unions could serve as potential means to bring about a fair deal for both parties, and as you point out, this is not always the case. And if you read any of my posts thoroughly, you'll find I can be a harsh critic of unions. Look at BART and the Chicago Public Schools...good examples of unions gone mad. At the end of another day, unions can work if they and management bargain in good faith, if not, all bets are off.

Why should management have to bargain at all? When you hire a plumber, you'd probably laugh in his face if demanded that you bargain in good faith, whatever that means.

unions to me exist to be an industrial/political power to prevent the baser elements of management the joy of sacking " a few good men"
with too much power they like government become a farce.

the fact is

No two plumbers are alike.

pacifism

Pacifism covers a spectrum of views, including the belief that international disputes can and should be peacefully resolved, calls for the abolition of the institutions of the military and war, opposition to any organization of society through governmental force (anarchist or libertarian pacifism), rejection of the use of physical violence to obtain political, economic or social goals, the obliteration of force except in cases where it is absolutely necessary to advance the cause of peace, and opposition to violence under any circumstance, even defense of self and others.

I, desire many of above but"even defense of self and others."

is a step too far.
such is a willful abolition of a billion years of evolutionary 'nature'
One that let us be here talking
you are here. because none questioned "thy self or others"
they KNEW it.

What is intersting is that government knows this.
Thus you can go to court for defending yourself.
We no longer can kill someone raping our 5yo daughter. One must ring 911 and wait for 'trained police responce team
"It's ok sammy the police are comming.. so am i says the raper."

A long term strategy to remove the testicles on the people. make them like doh.
What must infuriate those who plan is that thinking is free.

The plan is squeeze every cent out. but thinking . well that what the plan is.
so sport and girls and cars exct are pushed to front to deflect 'thinking'

the sheep look up

hollywood did a thing.
without knowing.

Systemic anomaly.
