Are there any members here at the Philosophy Now Forums who live in Greenland who have survived thus far?


In addition to the reasons given in the article can there be a philosophical insight or a philosophical perspective?

Nordic thought has tended to dwell on the dark side of nature - presumably because of the climate.
I suppose people who live in less light are more realistic in their observations of both gods and men. They may become melancholic and despondent as a result, their negative emotions turned inward.
On the other hand, they seem to be a whole lot better at social organization than the "cheerful" types farther south, whose negative emotions turn outward in violence.
