Why are you bringing up the GE plant in Evendale, which has nothing to do with any teacher's union?SpheresOfBalance wrote:
Not true, union workers that are not cutting the mustard, can be fired, as long as the proper protocols are adhered to. Most use write-ups, that total 3, as in 3 strikes and you're out. I know this because of GE, jet engine department foreman.

I just did. Read Tom Browns Schooldays for an example of private education in action with respect to teachers.bobevenson wrote:If you've actually got something to say, say it!

Why don't you just summarize it for me, or is that asking too much?Arising_uk wrote:I just did. Read Tom Browns Schooldays for an example of private education in action with respect to teachers.bobevenson wrote:If you've actually got something to say, say it!

When I want somebody to read something, I post it word-for-word. Other people post links. You don't even do that, you scum of the Earth!Arising_uk wrote:LMAO! Whoa! WHOA! KIDS - This is getting out of control.
C-mon, please play nice.
Make your points and realize that we are all different.

Okay...now let's get back to the fine balance of respecting each other and sharing our insights.
I thank both of you for participating in this thread and for being so emotional about this important subject.

Does the IFBPC* know about this? ^
Seriously, almost no progress in workers rights and safety would ever have been made without unions. In the coalmines of industrial England, 12-year-old boys already suffered from black lung; on the construction of Canadian railway bridges, one death every for 10 feet was standard collateral damage; in USian sweatshops, teenaged girls were paid starvation wages and sexually abused by foremen.... much as they are now, in the post-union-busting era.
All human organizations is prone to bureaucracy, over-reaching and corruption; the larger it is, the more unnecessary complications creep in; the more money passes through it, the more will stick to unscrupulous hands; the more power leaders wield, the greater their sense of entitlement. That doesn't mean we shouldn't ever organize anything; it just means the membership needs to stay awake and pay attention.

It is the government's job to correct improper safety and working conditions, but it's nobody's job to extort higher wages from employers.

Yeah, I hear ya. Those poor, POOR employers.
We better protect them!
What if we paid their taxes for them? That would be nice.
I have another idea...what if we dropped ALL tariffs and allowed those POOR employers to open shops in communist countries that don't protect our environment and can use indentured servants to perform their labor for free?
- and then ship those products half-way around the world back to us using cargo carriers that are given huge tax breaks & deep discounts on the fuel they use and then we can export all our wealth while owning nothing but our opinions...that are eventually made meaningless by a government that is run by corporation? How's that sound?
...do yourself a favor...your shtick is old. It's not even fun to respond to you anymore. Find SOMETHING new. For ALL of us...

Why don't you just change the name of this thread to "I believe in the inherent evil of Organized Labor," and maybe you'll be able to sleep better at night, you little Commie!

I wonder if Wiltrack knows all the words to "The Internationale," or if he's just a make-believe Commie.
