Politics runs an awfully close second in the race for "The Biggest Scam on Earth" and may even lead the race at times. But the race has no ending (as of yet), both being engrained in our hu'manity.bobevenson wrote:With the exception of the Church of Ouzo, religion is the biggest scam on Earth.
Economics is the allocation of property and labor. It has nothing to do with winners and losers.mtmynd1 wrote:Politics runs an awfully close second in the race for "The Biggest Scam on Earth" and may even lead the race at times. I might add a third competitor here, "Economics", which allows for a winner along with so many losers in order for that winner to be so.
You like to pretend the economy exists in a vacuum, but no matter how you slice it there are people involved and people have a funny way of stepping on one another to get to the top.bobevenson wrote: Economics is the allocation of property and labor. It has nothing to do with winners and losers.
I thought Economics the study of the production and consumption of goods and services?bobevenson wrote:Economics is the allocation of property and labor. It has nothing to do with winners and losers.
No, economics is the allocation of property and labor.Arising_uk wrote:I thought Economics the study of the production and consumption of goods and services?bobevenson wrote:Economics is the allocation of property and labor. It has nothing to do with winners and losers.
The allocation of property and labour is Politics.
Surely economics is the theory, politics is the doing.bobevenson wrote:No, economics is the allocation of property and labor.
I've always assumed that economists worked out what to do and politicians did it.bobevenson wrote:Again, economics is the allocation of property and labor, no more, no less.
It doesn't matter what gets done or how it gets done, economics is the allocation of property and labor, period.tillingborn wrote:I've always assumed that economists worked out what to do and politicians did it.bobevenson wrote:Again, economics is the allocation of property and labor, no more, no less.

Boy, do you seem to have your head up your ass or what, you must think you're one of the winners.bobevenson wrote:Economics is the allocation of property and labor. Yes, and rightfully so!artisticsolution wrote:You like to pretend the economy exists in a vacuum, but no matter how you slice it there are people involved and people have a funny way of stepping on one another to get to the top.bobevenson wrote: Economics is the allocation of property and labor. It doesn't have to be that hard. It's stupid to think it does. When people are dicks...everyone pays. The poor get meaner and meaner and eventually, when they've eaten enough shit, the rich get their fucking castle stormed. But do they ever learn? No!
The rich have got to be the supidest mother f'ers on the face of the planet.
Geez....all the poor ask for is a decent wage for a job well done!
I am in a really bad mood about it...I hope you can tell. I am working for the mega wealthy person who just tried to take advantage of my good nature. She tried to get me to do 2 murals for the price of one and I had to remind her that there is no way as it would cost me more to drive to her house for that many weeks...I could not feed my family for what she wanted to pay me. I said in a fake sweet as you be voice, "If you want I could one of the rooms now and then the other in 6 months when you have saved up the money" (cause at that point I was so steaming mad that I would have rather gone to watts and painted a mural for 25 dollars rather than given her a 'discount') She realized what she had said to me and then said.."no....let's just go ahead with both rooms for the price you quoted."
I was so ticked that day...that my work suffered...she didn't get my best work. Not that she could tell...but I could tell...my heart wasn't in it.
Sometimes taking advantage of people comes back to bite you in the ass. Why do you think there are so many unemployed who have just taken themselves out of the workforce? It's not because they can't find work like fox news wants you to believe...it's because they can make more money selling their shit on ebay or in a garage sale than working for the f'n rich pricks for slave wages.
I say everyone working for minimum wage should leave the workforce at once...and make those f'ers fear for their businesses.
I am sick of it...I say if we're going down...then we're ALL going down! I don't think the rich would like it too well if they had to live in fear every time they went out to drive their Bentley's down the road....with the masses of unemployed lining the street they wouldn't get very far.
That's not a threat....that is the reality of the situation.
Why work if that job doesn't pay you enough for food a shelter? Better to just take what you need than work for nothing.
I am fighting mad.
