Use of weapons
Weapons.. that which empowers individuals to kill.
The military machine . And i will talk here about US machine primarily.
Has 200 + teams working on advanced weapons.
The news is that rail guns can only fit on battleships.. what is , is that they can nearly fit them on land vehicles.. nearly.
It requires a nuke reactor in a vehicle... easy peasy?
Plasma weapons.. in 1st stage. Accelerated heavy ions.
What is not commonly known is that com guided defence weaps like phalanx.. are now so refined as to make any but an overwhelming flood of incoming.. dead.
3 phalanx turrets can destroy all incoming ballistic shells . missiles are no threat.
The big gun battleships are dead at last.
Why did i start this post/thread.?
because i am a mil historian. This is not peace philosophy.. It is war.
As most of human history is tale of war.. well i thought.
lets talk war.

Coincidence.
I have just posted an interesting vid on WMD on the thread, Man's Ultimate purpose.
Nothing compared to the obvious knowledge you display on the subject, but highly relevant today.

They are more than proven excellent.
A piece of technology.. must earn its way.. it is not what itcan be till it has been evolved.. . we do that.
we are it's god.
The f35 is 4th generation.. .
6th generation are in big shed back of ellis or 'that area'
No more 'jet engines.. pulse drives.
And hypersonic weps.
Once again for the thousandth time. SF become reality.
In 1835 man did not believe we could go faster than 50mph..
The air would be sucked from our lungs.
Now we make weapons that fire projectiles at mach 15.
planes that fly and hover like hummingbirds.
use of weapons.
Re: Use of weapons
Logistics? Can they produce them, man them, and keep them supplied fast enough to overcome an advasary, and at a distance, like overseas.
WWII, we beat the Gremans by bombing their factories, we beat the Japanese by cuting their supply of oil.
Desert Storm, we had better materials and better trained soldiers.
But everything depended on the supply train to keep fighting.

Re: Use of weapons
indeed, let's talk war. the planet is headed for destruction. to preserve wealth of the few, many must die. it is impossible to resist. microwaves can be augmented, bullets can be sold to only those who are desired to win. in the end, the lavish will preserve their lavishness, and all others will die, either fighting, or in submission. the most powerful weapon is the written word: ideas. but only the right words, the bright ideas. and so: who can win? time will tell.Hjarloprillar wrote:Weapons.. that which empowers individuals to kill.

With war, no one wins!
War: The orchestration of an abyss, of blind meat-puppets; manipulators, with a bravery of being out of range; cultivation of selfishness, greed and cowardice. Oh the monkey, mesmerized, by it's sparkle.

This may not quite meet the topic, but
I watched Zulu Dawn last night. It is an old classic. A depiction of the battle of Isandhlwana and the massacre of the British. Burt Lancaster was outstanding in a lead role and Peter O'Toole. The film's depiction, I thought, was fair to both armies that fought on that day, but I am not a historian and of course, know one cannot rely on a film for accuracy. The Zulus were a proud and brave people. I got the feeling the British had a lot to answer for. The movie was stupendous. 10 out of 10.

Man's cowardice, is not of glory to commemorate, unless only, as a lesson of failure.
The "use of weapons" is the epitome of cowardice!

The human monkey loves war.. near all games are WAR games. Sport is WAR by another means.
Business is WAR.
As a military historian i would if given the power immediately break up all organized armies.
That 1.5 trillion a year is far better used for other projects.
The tech think tanks i would keep on.. some excellent spin offs to humanity came from war.
You fly in jet airliners. Where did 'jet' come from.

'ZULU' was better.

Speak for yourself son, I value not war, but truth, above everything else, shall I fight to reach it, only in defense of my quest in truth, it is an unfortunate side effect, born of the idiots, cowards, of which you speak. To be a historian of war is to be a historian of mans fear, cowardice! Though without study in psychology, you know not, of the proper reference point, from which to view this history, which is that of which I speak.

"Though without study in psychology, you know not"
I read 2 to 300 books on topic. More than psychology degree requires.. MY DAUGHTER. a psychologist asks me my opinion on hard problems.
My ability to integrate ides. we all have yet hardly use.
i am not your enemy.
Those who rule by kill or be killed. Are the fuckers that need to be in the dirt.
And i would gladly.. pump action in hand. loose of 1st round. when all who talk decide to act. And stop jerking off
