First. Man to man.

As the questions could be purely hypothetical for most of us, then guessing would be called upon and it is perfectly natural to cleave to the side of hero.

Tell me of your experience and how your brain reacted.

Not a picture of a train, a real experience.

As an aside. I am left brain dominant.

To answer you, I work, almost constantly, throughout the day to move to the symbolic, right-side brain thinking.

As I conceive the body of my posts here, that trend to reach to the right is evident throughout most of my posts and even the way I am evolving the style of my posts.



I actually feel naked now...

Would you, if a train was racing towards you, jump on the tracks, to try to save a young child from certain death, which in doing so, could be your own.

Having the state of mind of knowing this and consciously choosing to risk dying, wouldn't it better to just think, you could do nothing to save the child, or it was 'fate" and beyond your control.

I think such hypotheticals are unanswerable until the situation arises. At best it just explores what one thinks are ones ethics and morals and in this instance my cultural ones tell me to make the attempt.

Having said that I think the first proposition hinges on the "could", as its this that'd be a defining factor I think. Hence you get to the second proposition where you know that the could is a "will", i.e. if you jump down there you will die as the train is to close and going to fast to stop. Even then I still might try it but it'd be without thought then.

I'd choose to examine this ridiculous metaphor of 'right' and 'left' 'brains and how it mis-describes what it is to be a mind and what the CNS is. I'd examine why I think I need such a metaphor and what it is does for me and then look for a better way to improve my thoughts and thinking.

I'd really take a close look at the largely nonsense categories of mind that are being assigned to these 'two brains' and I'd definitely examine the contradiction that language appears to be placed in one 'brain' and 'creativity'(an example of one of those fairly nonsense terms) in the other when language can be used creatively?

So if I had to choose, I'd choose to express myself with the best tool we've got for communicating our thoughts and thats words, enhanced with specifically chosen images where appropriate.
