Are you Evil?
Re: Are you Evil?
40 years ago "Dirty Old Man" didn't mean the same thing it means now, but then I wasn't as old as I am now.

To veer away from the current mud slinging.
Why are the horrors of gore in films quite acceptable.?
For example torture types like saw and hostel.?
[my own fault the example i used in relation to myself]
I consider them the equal in evil to the aforementioned violations.
Also there is term that is gaining ground as a 'meme'?
"No good deed goes unpunished"
Thoughts?

Good..... a word that is abused on a daily basis.
"The Nazis are well remembered for murdering well over 11 million people in the implementation of their slogan, 'The public good before the private good,' the Chinese Communists for murdering 62 million people in the implementation of theirs, 'Serve the people,' and the Soviet Communists for murdering more than 60 million people in the implementation of Karl Marx's slogan, 'from each according to his ability, to each according to his need.'
Anyone who defends any of these, or any variation of them, on the grounds of their 'good intentions' is an immoral (NOT 'amoral') enabler of the ACTUAL (not just the proverbial) road to hell."

I think it's unfair to blame Karl Marx for the mistakes of others. I like Karl Marx's slogan, it's very close to my heart.reasonvemotion wrote:Good..... a word that is abused on a daily basis.

now read it...

.........
"No good deed goes unpunished"
Is good actually good as most of us accept it to be...
It gets down to a person's desire to help himself and society is not based on morality but our instinct. We apply the terms good and bad AFTER we see the outcome. There is an alternate cause for the actions that are perceived as good.
Actions are not done out of any moral obligation, they acquire the term "good" and "bad" based on the impact they have. There are only consequences and effects

For i just watched RED DAWN
"Marines do not die. they fall back to hell and regroup."
Should not Marines fall back to heaven?
Be it that the movie is COD modern war2 made into a movie.
It is good example of the very simplistic nature of understanding our youth enjoys.. [little]
And will someone explain hove north Korean transports invade Washington state airspace..
Did they fly from Narnia? On the wings of imagination?
