Austerity and Global power
Austerity and Global power
The austerity measures cutting across the West are happening because of a future Chinese power threat. The West is in the Middle East because it requires the resources so as to have a good bargaining hand in future dealings with a growing China.
In order for the West to defend itself the wealth must be in the hands of those in power, so wealth is hoovered up from the majority into the hands of power so they can then use that wealth to confront aggression, remain on top. The mass of people will suffer but will soon be used as soldiers in a coming third world war. This is the plan, give or take a number of other minor points. Agreed?

What are you talking about? We owe China so much money, and they depend on us so much for exports that the last thing they will ever think about is doing us harm. We own them, my friend.

The fun thing is that if China ever went to war with the US, the US could ignore much of its national debt for an indefinite time or maybe even erase it themselves + it would stop importing from China, leading to a huge new income for Americans buying American-made stuff and not having to pay its debt.
China has locked themselves into a no-return friendly relationship with the US.

This is what I'm talking about. You owe and don't intend to pay.We owe China so much money
And what is this 'We' business. You don't owe it your owners do. So why include yourself.

You have argued here for a war. No.

You know nothing about economics, my friend. What do you mean "your owners," are you an aspiring comedian trying out a bit for your stand-up routine?Pluto wrote:This is what I'm talking about. You owe and don't intend to pay.We owe China so much money

Speaking of food, better watch out for any eggs and tomatoes thrown by the patrons.Pluto wrote:I don't know. Cheese?Well, when your stand-up routine gets a big laugh, what are you going to say, Mr. Comedian?

You don't have to move away from the track unless it's a subway. Then you might consider developing a political economic point of view.Pluto wrote:Moving away from the track. Safer, more comfort.Speaking of food, better watch out for any eggs and tomatoes thrown by the patrons.

Okay, so it's because financial institutions messed up big time, and because too big to fail, were bailed out by Governments. This money is then taken from the public and their institutions. Ultimately, the general public bail out the banks, and in doing so, are impoverished. This in a time of zero growth, economic downturn.

Nothing is worse than crony capitalism. No company is too big to fail; that's what real capitalism is. It is improper for the government to offer any help whatsoever to failing companies, regardless of size. Let them go belly-up, my friend.Pluto wrote:Okay, so it's because financial institutions messed up big time, and because too big to fail, were bailed out by Governments.
