Accruing the name of one who would certainly not be a Catholic were he alive today is no more than a coca-cola type stunt. Francis's affiliation with the church was, on careful reading of his life, best understood as a less than ideal conjunction that he wore with great patience, much in the same vein as Michelangelo's affiliation with the church is to be understood. It was as hard for men of those times to avoid the affiliation as it is for us to avoid technology.
