~ Me - Having a Discussion With My Ego ~

Is the mind the same as the body? What is consciousness? Can machines have it?

Anything to avoid answering a question eh! Which about sums up your philosophical 'thought'.

I thought your gif was about you having a chat with your ego?

Still, in the context of your words I take it you've changed what thought you meant it to represent. As such, see what I mean about being to fragile? As all I did was restate what you, by your own admission, have said about yourself.

Have fun with your 'ego', its more than large enough for your 'two-brains'. In fact it suits your two-faces and the facades they present.

OK. Here is the way that I perceived this GIF & thread to be;

The more powerful symbolic RIGHT brain of mine is admonishing the symbolically LEFT brain ego; the linear ego.

That's all...

That's all the GIF & thread meant to me.

I mentioned this same scenario that I am wrestling with right-now in my philosophically lead life.

The ego; the left brain ego; the one that is CONSTANTLY talking even when our lips aren't moving is a cruel and frightened master.

I see this in you.
In your posts.

You are frightened of what images & GIFs do to your simple linear posts.

Images & right brain function surprisingly are exploding upon the internet and are taking over the power of the simple written word through the internet.

As individuals, I think right brain functions continue to point us to our evolutionary path.

Thank you for inspiring me to express this.

I hope, philosophically, my posts are providing you with some confidence and direction and answered all those questions that you had of me.

You appear quite lost...and I don't mean that negatively.

That all pretty much nonsense you mean. Take some responsibility for your thoughts and mind for gawds sake.
That's all the GIF & thread meant to me.
Nah! You didn't know what you meant when you posted it and this is you now retrofitting it to sound deeeeeep.....
I mentioned this same scenario that I am wrestling with right-now in my philosophically lead life.
You're always struggling and wrestling with things.
Try answering these questions and you may get somewhere;
1. "What outcome do I want?"
2. "If I got this outcome what will it do for me?"
Keep going until you achieve a strong, clear response. Then;
3. "Whats stopping you?" If nothing then 5. if not then 4.
4. "What do you want instead of 3?"
Go to 2.
5. Find a good NLP therapist or life-coach to get the resources you need. Or read the books and have a go yourself or with a friend(worked for L.Ron's method).
The ego; the left brain ego; the one that is CONSTANTLY talking even when our lips aren't moving is a cruel and frightened master.
In NLP terms you prefer to use an internal voice to 'think' with. Many do. Try picturing some kind of control or switch when this happens and experience thought with it turned off. Also learn to look with your peripheral vision rather than the foveal one. Its basically learning to relax the muscles around the eyes and push ones attention to the periphery of ones vision.
I see this in you. In your posts.

You are frightened of what images & GIFs do to your simple linear posts.
No, you don't and no I'm not. Why? Because you do not understand the written word and its relationship to thought. In fact you obviously have a great problem with what thought is to mind and how language and communication relates.
Down-syndrome-boy-with-dog.gif
 Shows what you know!

As a dog owner and the father of a Downs Syndrome boy I'm annoyed at dog-owners who allow their dogs to behave in such a way and frightened that the boy will give the wrong signals and get his face torn-off. I'm also mildly annoyed at the anthropomorphic primates who read 'empathy' into such things but then such stupidity never surprises me where this primate is concerned.

Oh! And pissed-off the video maker spelt "Downs" wrong.
Images & right brain function surprisingly are exploding upon the internet and are taking over the power of the simple written word through the internet.

As individuals, I think right brain functions continue to point us to our evolutionary path.
There is no arrow of progress in Evolution nor is there a 'path'.

A couple of things with your 'path'; I have no issue with the creativity others show in this medium, I look forward to the day you actually use your 'right-brain' to create an image yourself rather than plagiarize others efforts. Unfortunately this idea you promote will lead our nations to third-class status as the other nations are not teaching their children this way, they are teaching them to use words and maths to communicate with, as you can't develop new technology with images only. Its also only the children of the proles who are told that this is a viable, in fact the viable, way to think, as the children of the rich and powerful(and even the middle-class) are also not being taught this way. Again, don't mistake me as saying that I don't admire and respect the creative and imaginative uses and the possibilities available in these mediums, its that I've actually taught the children who have been brought up this way and they find it nearly impossible to retain or follow a thought for more than five minutes, which means they cannot learn the basics needed to express themselves to others which leads to frustration and sometimes violence, which they cover with an overblown vocal assertion and assessment of their capabilities.
Thank you for inspiring me to express this.
How many times!! Your pointless platitudes do not impress me and I think you are just playing to the 'crowd'.
I hope, philosophically, my posts are providing you with some confidence and direction and answered all those questions that you had of me.
I'll leave you to guess what my reply is to this.
You appear quite lost...and I don't mean that negatively.
Of course you do you twat! Although I guess that since you don't have a clue who or what you are or what you think that you actually believe this.

I appreciate your interest in this thread and, as always, I appreciate your civility.

I happen to respectfully disagree with not only your overall take upon this new, incredibility powerful tool upon this forum, but with some of the specifics you use.

We live in a multidimensional continuum.

Black does not exist without it's opposite - white. And ALL of the shades of grey in-between.

Impressions are the most powerful tool in real philosophy.

Let me use a metaphor that may help you understand better my perspective at this point in my life.

I TOTALLY understand yours.

For a various number of reasons an individual may choose to begin weight training.

In the beginning it is sagacious to read all you can
in reference to this discipline. Perhaps follow & trust certain authors to guide you.

You begin to work-out more and read less & less.

Years later you develop your own system and style based upon a number of factors.

Still later, if you stay with it, you rarely read or read nothing at all, you just work-out.

I worked-out earlier today. Before I wrote this post.

Philosophically, I work-out all the time.

I read a little and enjoy this forum but philosophically, I grow where the rubber meets the road.

Again, I am not speaking down to you but I hope this example will help you in your understanding of philosophy - real philosophy.

All the best.

State them and what you disagree with.
We live in a multidimensional continuum.
I know you think this sounds impressive, so tell me what you mean by the words "multidimensional" and "continuum"? As I know it may escape the notice of your huge brains but we live in a three dimensional world, all else is conjecture.
Black does not exist without it's opposite - white. And ALL of the shades of grey in-between.
So your 'multidimensional continuum' contains polar opposites does it?

And even this isn't correct as its not about opposites but foreground/background.
Impressions are the most powerful tool in real philosophy.
No, they are the most powerful in politics, religion and ideologies, they are the tools of the demagogue, priest and ideologue. In Philosophy clarity and precision allied with reason and logic are the most powerful tools.
Let me use a metaphor that may help you understand better my perspective at this point in my life.
Fire away.
I TOTALLY understand yours.
No, you don't.
Was the dope smoking reference meant or just subconscious desire upon your part?
For a various number of reasons an individual may choose to begin weight training.
true, but low self-esteem appears to be the main one for those who are not training for a profession.
In the beginning it is sagacious to read all you can in reference to this discipline. Perhaps follow & trust certain authors to guide you.
No, its not. Its sagacious to find someone to show you how to lift weights and then get on with it. For myself kettle-bells and Iranian or Indian clubs produce more useful muscle and flexibility.
You begin to work-out more and read less & less.
You may have. Others do it the other way around as after working-out for a long-time they begin to think it may be beneficial to see what others have done.
Years later you develop your own system and style based upon a number of factors.
 You think you can build a better mouse-trap? Your ego knows no bounds.
Still later, if you stay with it, you rarely read or read nothing at all, you just work-out.
But you've read pretty much nothing at all of western philosophy or its philosophers? At best it sounds like you've read one or two oddballs, Ouspensky, Wilson, etc and a lot of dip-shit 60's and 70's hippy nonsense, basically a mishmash of idealistic politics, metaphysics and eastern religion.
I worked-out earlier today. Before I wrote this post.

LMFAO! How apt a clip given your metaphor.

This an example of one developing ones own system? As all this clip shows is a dog being tortured by owners to fuck lazy to take the responsibility of owning a dog and walking it! Not only that they appear to be intent on damaging it as the locomotion on display is unnatural and psychologically the dog is being deprived as during a walk the dog uses its most important sense, i.e. smelling, as this is its main form of communication.
Philosophically, I work-out all the time.
Masturbating over how many views you get is not working-out philosophically.
I read a little and enjoy this forum but philosophically, I grow where the rubber meets the road.
You're a skid-mark?
Again, I am not speaking down to you but I hope this example will help you in your understanding of philosophy - real philosophy.
So you keep saying but yes you are and no it doesn't but so far your 'real philosophy' appears to be an exercise designed to salve and support your fragile ego. If not then its a facade for some other purpose, my guess is you want a herd or flock like the goaturder. You fancy yourself as a shepherd? A gnu?

 No answers as usual.

Ironic that, given the shit that comes out of your mouth.

I bet you don't even know why the elephant can feed itself this way.
