Is there a God? If so, what is She like?

I really appreciate your questions.

Let me take your last one first.

I really don't have political interests now.

I don't have a political party. I have a political issue; Organized Labor.

When I was working, I had the distinct pleasure and honor to be elected a number of times to my Local's Committee On Political Education, our C.O.P.E. Committee.

At the core of my being now is a system I have developed and continue to use & expand.

I call it The Way.
It is an individual spiritual path.

That's it.

I remain active should my union call to invite me to a political event but that is the extent of my relationship to anything political now.

I have reviewed my original post and not only do I wish NOT to change a word but I now re-affirm them for you:

Philosophically, we just look at things differently.

For example, you seem to like to take fellow members' own words, directly quote them, and then attack those words.

That's just not productive.

It's easy. It's like shooting fish in a barrel. But it's NOT philosophy.

It's NOT productive.

It's not even interesting.

Try accepting others statements and ingrain yourself to what you see. BUILD upon thoughts that are honestly articulated here upon the Philosophy Now Forums.

I'm not saying what you do is wrong. It actually is necessary in a way. But YOU have like 8,000 posts here and right now 0 credibility. You don't do philosophy anymore.

It was embarrassing to see you and another member call each other names.
Repeatedly.

I said, I hope you feel better because you sound sick.

You are not the same person that you were when you started here.

You started out as a philosopher. Somehow, whatever you are doing has changed you. Not in a good way.

All the best to you.

I hope you, and all of us, get better.

Actually, after reviewing my original post, I like the words so much I repeat them here:

The term "thesis" comes from the Greek θέσις, meaning "something put forth", and refers to an intellectual proposition.

I invite you to actually view the intellectual proposition of this particular thread.

You can do that by hovering your mouse above the phrase ...God works in strange ways... in my original post.

I apologize. I should have been more instructive in my original posting.

Please enjoy my research, write supporting arguments, consider objections, and put forth any questions you may have in relation to this active exercise in philosophy!

Thank you for trying to participate in this important philosophical exercise.
Good luck to you.

I stand by EVERYTHING I have said here in this thread and I appreciate you allowing me to repeat those claims here again.

Thank you.

God bless.

 Copy, cut, paste, repeat ad nauseam but with never a thought eh! Bill. Are you sure a philosophy forum is where you should be? I think you should set up a blog as I'm positive you'll get all the hits your heart wishes to affirm yourself.

See this bit,
The term "thesis" comes from the Greek θέσις, meaning "something put forth", and refers to an intellectual proposition.[/b]

I invite you to actually view the intellectual proposition of this particular thread.
I did and you continually avoid answering my points about it. But then you're not on the weeb to philosophise are you Bill. Its all me, me, me and my confusions with the aim, if lucky, of gaining a following like your idol the goaturder to salve what ails you.

I won't defend my self.

I am working to become strong enough to overcome my self.

I can't play your games here.

For what you are here is not a game. In your mind.

Come out.

Come out. I'm calling you to come out.

You have nothing to hang on to. There is nothing to hang onto.

You're stronger than this. Come out.

Did anyone else notice that the missionaries from years ago, who changed the way people viewed these women, did not do the women a world of good? HIV is also a major problem with prostitution, and horrible when considering the children.

I will grant that prostitution is not a very good way of life, but it is everywhere, and is not going to disappear. Prostitution is real, it has always been real, it will always be real.

I don't believe that telling them that their way of life is wrong, helps at all, and it takes away the dignity that was there when they were considered connected to the Goddess. To my mind, regulating the ages of the girls and passing out condoms would have been more appropriate.

Or everyone can play the game of righteous indignation and make believe, which is not very productive, but makes us feel like we are doing something.

Do not be afraid.

If I can serve as a model for you...a noble, philosophical symbol for you, see me as the brother in arms who was willing to take the grief, and the fellow member who urged you to trust your fellow members and welcomed visitors here at the Philosophy Now Forums.

See me as the fellow member who urged you to increase your enjoyment of the miracle of the internet by adding speakers or headphones to you enjoyment of the miracle of this new technology we call computing!

See me as the fellow wise member who encourages you and other members here to be brave enough to use their legal name in all of their postings here and in other sites at the internet. There are so many rewarding reasons that make sense to do this. I've stated this argument somewhere here before.

See me as the herald of the coming good.

See me as the Socratic philosophical force that urges you to turn your eyes away from the shadows upon the wall of the cave that ultimately frighten you and cause you misunderstand the force of inherent good.

I will tell you fear & hate are two sides of the same coin.

I welcome you brother.

You can leave your fear right here.

Is that like that mythical place 'heaven' with its mythical 'God' that you believe in?

What do you believe about this 'God' of yours? You think it actually exists? Talks to you when the meds wear off?

If you've got nothing to say godbotherer don't say it.

Where better?
I won't defend my self.
Not asking you too, just answer fair questions about your thoughts. Think about what you say and if shown problems with your thoughts try considering them and adapting, its called Philosophy.
I am working to become strong enough to overcome my self.
No idea what this means? But why do you think it needs strength to change?
I can't play your games here.
Who's playing? That you think philosophy is a pointless game is obvious but if you engaged with it you might find some answers to what ails you. I don't mean me I mean actually reading those who have been called Philosophers.
For what you are here is not a game. In your mind.
You're not making much sense here.
Come out.

Come out. I'm calling you to come out.
What you see is what you get Bill.

Are you sure your unconscious is not saying something to you with the above words Bill?
You have nothing to hang on to. There is nothing to hang onto.
Save your dipshit new-age pseudo-babble for yourself as its obviously confusing you.
You're stronger than this. Come out.
Your subconscious trying to tell you something?

What foolishness? The foolishness of expecting you to answer questions about your thoughts?
Drop this immaturity.
Grow-up and challenge your thoughts.
What you are doing is not philosophy.
How would you know? Given you've not studied nor read philosophy.
What you are doing is not even entertaining.
Not here to amuse you. Although I think I have my moments.
I'm putting a group together.
lmao! Not here to be your sheeple.
We must unite & stand for something together.
Why?
I can give you a chance to earn your credibility back.

As far as I can see such additions have just lead to a shorter attention span and a decrease in critical thought.
See me as the fellow wise member who encourages you and other members here to be brave enough to use their legal name in all of their postings here and in other sites at the internet. There are so many rewarding reasons that make sense to do this. I've stated this argument somewhere here before.
And I've replied. Unlike you, apparently, I'm still in the world of gainful employment and given that world I expect to be applying for jobs, as such I give prospective employers as little ammo as possible. I also have children and given how wired they and their friends are I spare them from supplying ammo to prospective foes, although they know my niks so can read my thoughts if they wish. I'm also from a generation that grew-up with computing and niks have long been a part of online life but my generation also finds it weird to spill ones life for others to troll over.
See me as the herald of the coming good.
lmao! Now what was it about not being a superman you were saying? Shall we call you Megalomania Man? What with you and boob we now have two loons, a 'herald' and a 'prophet'.
See me as the Socratic philosophical force that urges you to turn your eyes away from the shadows upon the wall of the cave that ultimately frighten you and cause you misunderstand the force of inherent good.
 wiki is not studying philosophy Bill. It was Plato and I told you, I prefer Aristotle.
I will tell you fear & hate are two sides of the same coin.
And yet again I'll ask you what does this make this coin?
I welcome you brother.

You can leave your fear right here.
You are projecting.
