WTF Did I Just See?
.
First - I saw the best President the United States has EVER had the privilege to occupy our oval office deliver THE BEST State of the Union message. EVER!
President Barack Hussein Obama, by ANY measure, knocked it out of the park on February 12, 2013.
His style and his message was superb. And it doesn't matter which side of the isle you sit upon. Period.
Second - I witnessed a 10 minute Republican response that will go directly-to-video and then will be played, without alteration, on Saturday Night Live.
I will be kind. It was not the fault of the speaker himself, it was the fault of the Party itself.
Initially I actually laughed out loud at what I was seeing on TV. And I NEVER laugh out loud at whatever I see on TV.
Marko Rubio wiped the sweat off his face NO LESS than FIVE time - SIX if you count the TWO HANDED wiping off of sweat that he used towards the end. THIS WAS A TEN MINUTE RESPONSE! I just got done watching our 44th President give an over hour-and-a-half SUPERB speech WITH THE WORLD WATCHING and he delivered it impeccably! The contrast itself was hilarious.
Then, THEN Senator Rubio made a dive his nearby water bottle on camera with a move that WAS STRAIGHT OUT OF SNL! I LOST IT!
The move is located just after the 10 minute mark.

WTF Did I Just See? I just saw an individual that was forced to speak about a political philosophy that he did not believe in. And he had to do that on the largest stage in the world.
From the bottom of my heart, and with all joking aside, I felt sorry for that asshole. Strangely, I ALMOST felt sorry for his Party; the Republican Party. Almost.
The present Republican Party is empty of a meaningful message. NO ONE believe in the soul of the Republican Party.
Literally, today, the Republican Party is anti-American. Until they change their message they will continue to make, possibly half-way decent members look like complete assholes spewing shit.
i've run out of capital letters and exclamation marks so i'm just about done. if you have a chance to see the republican rebuttal - see it. the republican rebuttal of the 2013 SOTU message was by far the best and yet the saddest 13 minutes of tv entertainment i have witnessed in my life.

He hopes to destroy the USA before he leaves office, but he's afraid to come right out and say it.

How so?
How will he do this?
Why do you think he would do this?

Well, first of all, a $9.50 minimum wage will throw a lot of people out of work, and Muslim Obama will become the hero of both the Islamic world and his former church minister in Chicago, whom he earlier had to throw under the bus.
Re: WTF Did I Just See?
Why do you imagine that having a slightly less than awful minimum wage will lead to massive redundancies, the costs will just be passed to the customer. Forget your theory and look at the practice, where raising minimum wage has been tried it has not lead to an increase in unemployment.
When will economists realise that economics is not a science, forget the petty pseudo-theories look to the practice

You mean like Bush did?! Please. You aren't thinking clearly.bobevenson wrote:He hopes to destroy the USA before he leaves office, but he's afraid to come right out and say it.
I must admit one thing though....I would have voted for Hillary over Obama. She was my first choice...Obama was my second. But now that Obama has been in office...I am amazed by what I have learned about him. I never knew such a person could exist. The only fault I can see in him is that he is not God. Seriously...he comes as close to perfection as any human has ever come....at least in his ideas how to sustain a current and future world population in a practical manner. His is not only a kind vision of what could be...it's also a logical one. He gives solutions based on reality rather that IDEALS.
Don't blame him if our state is fucked up...he and anyone else has to work within the law and the mess of what has been done before him. Of course he has made a few mistakes (very few) but there is not a human alive who would have not made the same if not worse mistakes.
I was wrong about Obama. He is the best president that I have seen in my lifetime....and that coming from a woman who didn't think anyone could be better than Bill Clinton. Bill was great....but he also had a technical boom that we had never seen before....he had alot of perks to work with....whereas Obama was given a mess and had nothing but his honor and wisdom to see it through. I was amazed to see him stick by his principles in a practical manner, as there are people who will hold the bible up as a symbol of all that is good while doing the exact opposite.
John Boehner had it exactly right when he said, " If you do the right thing, right things will happen." It's just a shame he doesn't understand the difference between right and wrong.

The costs will not be passed on to the customer if the customer can't afford to buy the product. Better for a business to lower their profit margin than to skip out on a sale altogether....which is what we are seeing now. 200% percent profit margins are and should be a thing of the past. There is nothing wrong with businesses making as much money with more SALES instead of HIGHER PROFITS/PRICE ON A SINGLE ITEM...which is what would happen if they were less greedy and built up the middle class.

You don't know anything about economics. I suggest you stick to other subjects.rantal wrote:Why do you imagine that having a slightly less than awful minimum wage will lead to massive redundancies, the costs will just be passed to the customer. Yes indeed! I am minded of a certain high class hospitality establishment not far from where I live, they suffer from rapid staff turn over, new staff are inexperienced and given the level of service that inevitably leads to complaints. However, rather than pay a living wage, they follow a management theory that dictates keeping wages low, the result of this is not just poorer standards but, since they are forced then to also employ agency staff, in actuality a higher wage bill!artisticsolution wrote:Hi Rantal, rantal wrote:Why do you imagine that having a slightly less than awful minimum wage will lead to massive redundancies, the costs will just be passed to the customer. Whilst as you say sometimes a higher wage will eat into prophets instead of being passed to the customer, sometimes paying a higher wage can not only render better productivity but also work out cheaper!
Of course those that are brainwashed by theory will never admit such, to their companies detriment

Free-market economics is the only proper economics, and everything else is B.S.rantal wrote:Yes indeed! And, how has totally free markets benefited you directly?
Where do you find markets free of government protection? Specifically - what & where?
Why would you not want to be protected?

Re: WTF Did I Just See?
A free market means an orchiectomy for all unions.
Re: WTF Did I Just See?
Again, that is just a theory and a hopelessly naive one that is not born out in practice, the most successful economies long term are mixed economies.Free-market economics is the only proper economics, and everything else is B.S.
Want to know what a real free market economy looks like? Think of Victorian England that is the nearest you'll get. Opulence for a very, very few, degridation, misery and oppression for everyone else
