So in an attempt to get back on subject ,
if we are not alone,,,not here as in this forum ,,clearly we are not ,
but the bigger question ,,is there life out there ,,??
for those who presume there is , and believe in god ,
how would you try and fit those two together ,
why didn't god tell us of the other worlds and life forms ,,??
do they have a different god ,? ,is it ,,multi verse ,,multi gods,,??
how would a religious individual explain another world,,??

This thread was originally about the question of whether we are alone in this universe and use of such a term as the above forementioned word I've just asked you to forget, suggests that people are'nt being mature about their thinking.

Life created by similair "big bangs" in other galaxies of the universe is statistical certainty. The same can't be said of any God that is proclaimed to exist.

Does this lifeform also have the fictional notion of a deity/higher being/creator/..etc etc?

We have no reason to be here, it just happened one day, we evolved, we got clever, some of us stopped believing the rubbish that was forced down our throats without our consent in wanting to go along with it, some held onto these fanciful writings and beliefs and as a result culturaly as a whole, humans are retarded. We really haven't stepped out of our animal suits, from the time we were scared of the largest beast in the jungle, the beast we all had imagined was the most powerful thing in our world, we didn't understand it, but we heard it, and heard about it...

We will never reach the stars far away enough to seek out the answer to all this unless we discover a new and previously unknown physical phenomena such as on the scale of something like "Gravity".

We simply can not travel fast enough, let alone come up with the science to be able to withstand such distances, etc etc.

"Beam me up Scotty" is required for us to progress in seeking out new life. Scientists have already done it at an sub atomic level.

I agree with the idea that religion is evolving ,
and the "sadly" they will continue to try and survive as a business ,
so could we as Atheists try and come up with a counter strategy ,
If people are gullible , and easily fall for those making claims ,
lets start making claims ,,but make them about the real world ,
lets start a club/religion , that is based on reality ,
we are not going to stop people wanting to go to church ,

that mans experience of god should override our science ,
that our science is somehow inadequate compared to ,
mans experience of god ,

but the search is a lot smaller than most tend to think ,
we are not talking about the universe , oh no , just our wee corner ,
physical travel is beyond our capabilities now and will be ,
for as far as I can imagine ,
but the signal may be there waiting for us to read it ,
what the most logical form the signal may come in ,
is an interesting debate ,
I think pulses , like a micro dot , the dot contains the entire message ,
if it's like morse code , surely over the vastness of space , it would ,
be broken up and the meaning lost ,
to keep the message complete , in one pulse would reduce ,
the deterioration of the message ,,!!

We are already starting to abandon the types of EMS signals that would get us noticed in favour of more EM quiet digital signals. If ET is anything like us they may also pass this stage in development very quicky.
But the likely hood that ET is like us, is remote. It is far more likely that the majority of ET is aquatic or lives in some form of thick material; might be sightless, and has never thought about other stars let alone communicating with us. Even land based ET civilisations might be unaware of the vastness of the Universe due to the peculiarities of their atmosphere.

An infinitely old universe does make it more possible ,
if all the nearby galaxies and stars are of the same age,,ie ,bb,
then the chance of other technological societies emerging now ,
are a lot less than if there were galaxies a lot older than ours ,
who's societies are more advanced and have been sending the signal ,
for years , maybe millions of years ,
so that's one significant difference between the two models ,
in an infinitely old universe , there is more chance ,
the signal is there waiting for us
