Like everyone else, the NRA is capable of having really bad ideas.

In actuality, you can't do anything to prevent a massacre, but thankfully, the chance of it happening to somebody is less than being hit by lightning. As far as the NRA proposal, the first person shot will be the guard. You can make all the laws you want against people buying, selling or owning a gun, but a lunatic committed to mayhem will get all the guns he needs one way or another. That's reality, my friends, and you might as well accept it.

9000 people were killed in the US by guns in 2011
32,000 by automobile
75,000 deaths were alcohol related
And 400,000 died from tobacco.
Control what?

The U S of A has more gun shops than supermarkets. Can you believe that!

There are 51,438 retail gun stores and 36,569 supermarkets in the U.S. Of course, the total volume of sales for the supermarkets is far greater than the gun shops. I guess you're trying to make some kind of point, but what is it?reasonvemotion wrote:The U S of A has more gun shops than supermarkets. Can you believe that!

Considering supermarkets typically sell a greater number of items among many brands, sizes and varieties, I would have thought, the outlet number of stores would have exceeded gun shops. Not so. Check out the promo for this gun store, notice they have an indoor gun range open all day Christmas day.

I guess the patrons of this store would probably holiday in Iraq.
This is obscene.
Thanks for those stats. My point is this Bob.There are 51,438 retail gun stores and 36,569 supermarkets in the U.S. Of course, the total volume of sales for the supermarkets is far greater than the gun shops. I guess you're trying to make some kind of point, but what is it?

It's because supermarkets have multi-million dollar annual volumes that you don't need as many of them to satisfy customer demand. Gun shops are typically small mom-and-pop type operations, and though they outnumber supermarkets, they don't come anywhere close to total dollar volume. Again, what is your point? Also, your statement that it's obscene for a gun shop to have its range open on Christmas shows your prejudice against guns. Are you saying that only your own entertainment choices on Christmas are not obscene?reasonvemotion wrote:BobE wrote:

There are 9 guns for every 10 Americans. That includes children.

Judging from the response of people in America regarding this "latest" massacre, their love of weapons runs deep and strong.
The gun culture in America is obscene and the ingrained love of guns is depraved.
America is its own worst enemy.

I would think that most americans appreciate a well made product that preforms a function. And not all Americans are "In Love With Guns". I like a well made car, a computer that works, and a finely made gun. What is your opinion of a 400 HP high preformance automobile?

Your position is becoming more clear, but in the future, you could just cut and paste the opinion that you are parroting.
