Money is time.

In what sense would this sentence make sense ?

My money is an incorporation of my time which I invested in order to get it and to put it under the materess in order to exchange it bit by bit for food and other useful items and thus to survive the winter. When I prefer to hybernate and not get the useful items in the jungle of life.

But sometimes money is a gift. Then it is not my time but the doner´s time.

You missed the point entirely.
The good thing about coins is that they will buy me the same amount of beer whether I have had to work to be given one, or I find one on the street.
The point about the withdrawal of copper coinage is that the material value that people put on the coin is equal to the promise it represents. That was the idea behind the gold standard and why gold coins were accepted anywhere. They were worth their weight in gold.
Thankfully we have rejected this archaic system, which saw fortunes at the mercy of changing ore prices, and meant that the relationship between high value, mid value and low values coins could never be maintained due to the fact that they were made of metals; gold, electrum, silver, bronze, and copper that were always in a state of fluctuation.

Exactly, so you do understand in a sense that money is time. I did clarify the statement in a previous post.

Time is not the same as money. That's why we have two distinct words for these concepts.
Some people never spend time getting money.
Some people never spend money to buy time.

I haven't worked since I got cancer.
My money comes from a pot that I did not earn. It bears no relation to time.

Cancer’s a Funny Thing

I wish I had the voice of Homer
To sing of rectal carcinoma,
Which kills a lot more chaps, in fact,
Than were bumped off when Troy was sacked.

Yet, thanks to modern surgeon’s skills,
It can be killed before it kills
Upon a scientific basis
In nineteen out of twenty cases.

I noticed I was passing blood
(Only a few drops, not a flood).
So pausing on my homeward way
From Tallahassee to Bombay
I asked a doctor, now my friend,
To peer into my hinder end,
To prove or to disprove the rumour
That I had a malignant tumour.
They pumped in BaS04.
Till I could really stand no more,
And, when sufficient had been pressed in,
They photographed my large intestine,
In order to decide the issue
They next scraped out some bits of tissue.
(Before they did so, some good pal
Had knocked me out with pentothal,
Whose action is extremely quick,
And does not leave me feeling sick.)
The microscope returned the answer
That I had certainly got cancer,
So I was wheeled into the theatre
Where holes were made to make me better.
One set is in my perineurn
Where I can feel, but can’t yet see ‘em.
Another made me like a kipper
Or female prey of Jack the Ripper,
Through this incision, I don’t doubt,
The neoplasm was taken out,
Along with colon, and lymph nodes
Where cancer cells might find abodes.
A third much smaller hole is meant
To function as a ventral vent:
So now I am like two-faced Janus
The only* god who sees his anus.

*In India there are several more
With extra faces, up to four,
But both in Brahma and in Shiva
I own myself an unbeliever.

I’ll swear, without the risk of perjury,
It was a snappy bit of surgery.
My rectum is a serious loss to me,
But I’ve a very neat colostomy,
And hope, as soon as I am able,
To make it keep a fixed time-table.
So do not wait for aches and pains
To have a surgeon mend your drains;
If he says “cancer” you’re a dunce
Unless you have it out at once,
For if you wait it’s sure to swell,
And may have progeny as well.
My final word, before I’m done,
Is “Cancer can be rather fun”.
Thanks to the nurses and Nye Bevan
The NHS is quite like heaven
Provided one confronts the tumour
With a sufficient sense of humour.
I know that cancer often kills,
But so do cars and sleeping pills;
And it can hurt one till one sweats,
So can bad teeth and unpaid debts.
A spot of laughter, I am sure,
Often accelerates one’s cure;
So let us patients do our bit
To help the surgeons make us fit.

I wish you to recover, Chaz, even though less than a year ago you told me: "why don´t you curl up and die ?"

I myself do not want to hate anyone. Hate would hurt me most, me as hater would be hurt more than the hatee.

Since it is beyond my power to make you 'curl up and die', and since the context for that remark is now lost, and because I would never wish it -that comment was not made with any thing other than levity.

As for my cancer, we all have to die sometime. It seems that my immanent death has been postponed for the time being, though it is most likely that cancer will be the way I will go - or that will be the reason I take my own life.

'perineurn'

How strange. The only word misspelt. Intentional or accidental. It just stood out glaringly.

The context was that I was making some New Year´s resolutions and you trampled on them like a spoilt kid on someone else´s sand-castles.

Anyway, there is always something to celebrate, for the time being, while we are still around.

Next Thursday I will celebrate the first month gone after my stroke and me still normal and in a good shape. And I will continue on each 20 of a month to celebrate this occasion.
I celebrate my birthday on the 13th of each month.
I still need other reasons for all the other days of the month, it would be good to celebrate something every day of a month, I think.

Then one has something positive to relive mentally a whole day long.
