will Islam become the dominant religion?

Is there a God? If so, what is She like?

All the statistics are against you.
Yes, the population is increasing, but the proportion of non-christians is growing faster than christians.
What statistics would those be?

Actually that is exactly what they do want. What they don't want is what we call the 'liberalism' that we have, so something more like our pre-50s democracies.

Christianity is not in 'terminal decline' - it is re-inventing itself, like a snake changing its skin, Islam will also have to do this.
Modernity has crushed the core of christianity as it is crushing the core of Islam. Modernity is also finding its way into the ME. Maybe you have not heard of the "Arab Spring". But this is stimulated by young arab kids travelling to Europe, going to University, mainly the UK,( and France from old French colonies), where they learn about personal freedom and democratic values. These ideas they have been taking home with questions about political change.
In addition the ME is swamped with western popular culture; pop music and cinema from the west.
For example Iran has become very modernised in the cities and tends to poll an average of 40% for the progressive party.
and what was the outcome of the so called Arab "Spring"? a return to fundamentalism with the rise of radical parties like the muslim brotherhood who advocate a strict shariah code in governance.it wasn't a secular liberation movement as naive liberals like yourself hoped it would be.the young generation of muslims are more radical than their forefathers. Most young Iranians still favor Islamic shariah as the law of the land.and we've been hearing plenty of democratic things happening in Egypt too, like Christians being slaughtered, stoned to death & evicted off their properties by the military. The Arab spring has turned into an Islamist summer. has it ever occurred to you that most muslims don't want western style democracy? kindly get clue chaz
There has not been a move towards fundamentalism, but democracy has allowed pre-existing fundamentalism to be put on the stage and the scrutiny of public opinion.
It's called democracy - just because the outcome does not suit you does not change the fact that Islam has moved towards democracy. Democracy and science is the death nell of all religion.
You will have to wait and see what are the longer term consequences.
