I liked the review, and like what I have seen so far of the book. (For some reason the first time I opened the review article, I was able to read the whole thing - now I am directed to the subsciption panel.)

I have read a couple of Tallis' other essays on the excellent New Atlantis website, and generally concur with his viewpoint. I also sympathise with his tone of exasperation. Like him, I don't get why so many intelligent people are drawn to what he calls 'neuromania' and 'darwinitis' (without questioning the objective validity of evolutionary science, either).

I am interested that he describes himself as a 'proud atheist' though, the tendency of his thought does not appear to be pointed in that direction. :)
