I tend to miss these because I often notice the post in work where YouTube is blocked and I then forget to check at home. But I remembered tonight and I will say this...classic!!!
I know, isn't this one a keeper, Moon is priceless! ;-) Gotta thank marjoramblues for this gem! Thanks MB!
It is indeed.

I can only say that although Keith had long since passed I at least got to see them live a few years back, fortunately before John shuffled off this mortal coil, and although I had feared the worst they were absofuckinglutely fantastic.

Hi Bondi...Nice to see you! Thank you for posting that song by the Judds. Reminds me of my papa... :D

Also, thanks to Marjoramblues...love the ukulele! Here is one my son plays occasionally...

Laughed at the one guy's remark:

"jake was alright...but how good was that rolex infomercial!!!"

Here's one that used to scare the b'jesus out of me when I was young. I had a habit of falling asleep with the radio on and whenever this song came on, it would always wake me up (around the the 2:10 mark) and I would lie frozen in my bed....eyes as big as peaches...unable to even get up to turn the radio off....actually...even now...it still sort of terrifies me. :)

My sister to this day loves to razz me about it... delights her to no end. Thanks sis!

REM

Post by Pluto »

Okay, the music that shadowed your teenage into twenties age has a special hold on you. I picked up a new cd from REM at the library, titled 1982-2011. Sentimentality pervades, but it's okay.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7ISSTisyqc
(A kind of love song about everybody, good piano)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s_6axZ_Wdk
(beautiful guitar and build-up of chorus, the whole thing is problematic with its oversaturation in treacle-like sweetness, but it has something, the chorus, where he talks about bending spoons is the high quality and surrealistic)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soRar3m1Ht0
(Again we have sweetness, but it seems to hold somekind of universal know-how. The synth is high quality)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJYogbrsQLY
(Singing about, and going to Berlin to record an album in the hope that the city might show itself in the music)

This is not great but has something as it takes the current US rap into the extreme and in doing so comes over as a cartoon of it which then at the same time sweeps it away - possibly anticipating a new sound, if not his then anothers.

ok, what i was doing, please don't mind me right now, having some beer. well, was scraping some old dead sunflower stalks that should've been cut down before. left them. started scraping.

while scraping, not thinking of anything at the time that i can recall anyway, the song 'old hippie' entered my head.

the video essentially speaks for itself, however, had to find and post it at that moment.

?
don't ask me.

continuing on in a sec.
