There is a verse in the Quran that clearly says (Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam.(Total submission to God)) I'm not the one who put that rule and maybe my passion wish all good , nice , kind and beautiful people go to heaven whatever the faith they followed in their lives , but I'm not going to put myself in God's place and I can't refuse his word . Sometimes I think what if a man was born in Colombia for example in 1799 when there was no internet nor telecommunication and he didn't receive the message of Islam so that he can decide whether to follow it or refuse it . I ask myself , does a man like him be in hell ? , the answer no , cause he didn't receive the message , and I totally believe in God's mercy and wisdom . All in all I'm not going to be more just than him . So destiny of people ion the judgement day is totally in God's hand .
if so, what happens to the rest of us who are not Islamic. Should I become a Muslim to be "saved".
All people will be judged in the judgement day , for example , in the Quran it's said that God will ask Jesus , "Did you tell your people to worship you instead of me or take you as a partner with me ? , jesus replies , I can never do something like that , if I said it then you already know , you know what inside of me while I don't know what's inside of you , they are your slaves , if you want then forgive them , if you want then punish them , you are the most wise and merciful .

And in the end , yes , people who died non-muslim will be in eternal fire and it's God's rule and judge . God also says that he can guide all people if he wants to and he can force us to make obey all his rules but he give us the freedom of choice to be tested . Some might see homosexuality is fine and there is no problem with it . Alright , we all will be judged where you can't use argument and you can't hide anything inside .
Abraham was given a special promise that the descendants of Ishmael would become a great nation. It's in the Bible, the Torah, Genesis 17:20, RSV.

In life, people have to accept tradegy and wonder "why" God, let this happen.
It's first time to hear something like that . But in Islam I know that there is nothing like special promise for specific race or nation . If there is a football match between a muslim country and a non-muslim country , the winner will be the one who trained and prepared himself better not the one close to Allah or praying to him . Also in the judgement day , a muslim killer will never go to heaven . So it's not about a promise , it's all a matter of a test . Yourself , your soul inside is thing that being tested in this life .

Kayla wrote:is heavy petting fornication?
In Islam , yes it is .
is living together as a couple without a formal marriage fornication? in common law countries a couple living together is treated similar to a married couple under the law
There is difference between a Country's law and the people creator's law .
in some cultures marriage consists of the couple living together and announcing that they are married - is that sufficient
Alright , that's based on culture and it's secular then .
if you start asking those questions you find that a rule is not and cannot be an unequivocal commandment for every circumstance and all time

you have to decide - yourself - when and if it applies in any particular case
Yes , there are things that may differ from a situation to another . For example , if someone broke into my house attacking me and I had to kill him defending myself , then that doesn't make me guilty . But if I kill someone because he made me so angry , then I can't justify God that with saying I'm a too neural man , I can't control myself in anger , he has taken my girl friend that I love .

It's simply not like you say , rules are rules .
Don't get near fornication
as said in the Quran , then don't get near it if you want to follow the religion . forget about empty justifications . When Moses returned back to his people with the 10 terms after meeting God , they were don't kill , don't lie , don't commit fornication , don't drink alcohol , don't steal and others . I can't say , alright I'm gonna drink alcohol and have some fun in occasions .
note that the bible and the quran do not offer any particular guidance to these questions that cannot be avoided
In the Quran and hadith almost all cases and examples are mentioned .
dude if god did not want us to use our brains he would not have given us any
Use it in worldly and personal unusual problems and issues , don't use it in manipulating God's orders .

Alright , in case you aren't guilty , he will not judge you then if you are not mistaken . But if you are guilty , then arguing him the same way you argue me with philosophy , I think would be useless . I'm might be the one wrong about specific issue but because of my smartness , eloquence and capability to manipulate words, I could make myself look the right side . That will not work in the judgement day .

Some comparisons and differences, regarding The Bible and the Qur'an:

Both the Qur'an and the Bible proclaim a final judgment. Some of the end times catastrophes mentioned in the Qur'an reflect what the Bible stated hundreds of years before Mohammed was born. Yet, there are a number of differences between the Biblical message and that of the Qur'an.

The Bible gives specific predictions of what will precede the final judgment. Prophecies concerning the spread of the gospel to every nation (Matthew 24:14), career of the Anti-Christ (Revelation 13) and actual location of the final world conflict (Revelation 16:16) are only a few of the numerous predictions. Specific predictions are completely missing from the Qur'an, but there is a much more striking difference.

The Qur'an does not mention a central Biblical message, which has to do with the triumphal return of Jesus Christ. The Bible reveals that the Lord Jesus will be seated in the center of God’s throne, as both Savior and Judge (Matthew 25, Revelation 7:16-17). The one Qur'an passage, which mentions Jesus on Judgment Day, pictures him on trial being questioned by Allah. Allah asks Jesus whether or not he claimed that he and his mother were two gods besides Allah to which Jesus replies that he would never have said such a thing (5:115-117).

The Qur'an does not proclaim that Jesus is coming as the Savior of those who believed in his Lordship. Actually, there is no salvation in Islam. If anyone goes to the Islamic Eternal Gardens it will be because he died in battle fighting for Islam or he was characterized by four things; that Allah gave him guidance to believe in Islam, his good deeds were weighty, religious rituals were observed and Allah had mercy on him.

Do you agree?

Some of the signs of the hour or the end of the world were generally mentioned in the Quran , all the signs and the rest that weren't revealed in the Quran , were mentioned by Muhammad prophet in details (which may take long discussions) . But in brief he told us about the Anti-Christ's arrival and Jesus coming to save those who believed in God's Lordship . And Muhammad said that the Anti-Christ is a one eyed man and he will claim to be Jesus and then will claim to be God , so don't believe him cause God is not one eyed . And Jesus (The real massiah) will come then and lead the good people and then rule the world with justice .
This was a big sign , but there are small signs such as injustice , poverty , natural disasters , corruption increase , murder increase , fornication , evil overcome the good and everything we live today .

Also The final battles between good and evil are mentioned too . And in the moment big signs start to appear , the door of repentance will be closed .
One of the signs , the sun will sunrise from the sunset place and then all mankind will believe in God , but their faith will be refused then , even people who had faith but didn't do good in their lives will not be accepted either . We believe we are very close to that now .

Revelation 1:3 "Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near."

Luke 21:25-28 (NKJV) 25 “And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; 26 men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.”

So you see, the similarities are there, except the roles of the deities differ, according to each country. Do you see that.

perhaps scripture is more allegorical than you imagine and the creation and destruction are both continuous processes - there is no linear beginning and end

If you do good because you're scared of the threats then you're in but there's no place for people who just happen to be good. What a splendid religion you believe in.

If you don't believe it is the word of god then why the hell are you a Christian anyway? If you can pick and choose , what value is ANY of that Book?
The Bible is usually not considered the word of God, and I think most Christians don't even believe it is the literal word of the apostles since most new testament books appeared slightly to late for that to be possible. That bible is of value for the lessons that can be taken from it and its cultural-historic relevance (which is why in the western world people choose to be christian). Of course you can pick and choose, but why does that matter?
Value? Such as an eye for an eye, the killing of first born children, a sacrificial torturous death on a cross?
The good book!

Since it is a historic book, it has to be interpreted within its historical context - especially the old testament. Only recently in history of mankind have we abandoned the eye for an eye morality. Christianity may in fact even have influenced our current morals concerning this (hence, its cultural-historic value). See for example Luke 6:29:
Jesus wrote:To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, don’t withhold your coat also.
I wonder what our archaeologist thinks about this, but he has been absent for some time.

Quote:

meaning they would multiply in great numbers and the biblle actually specifies the land, its boundaries, which were given to Abram by God. Maybe that is why you havent heard of this.
God told Abram that his descendants would be slaves in Egypt for 400 years but that they would return to the land that he had given to Abram (vv. 13-14)–a land which extended from the river of Egypt Heb. מִנְּהַר מִצְרַיִם to the Euphrates. This is the first time the boundaries are given for the title deed (v. 18, cf. Exodus 23:31) “I will establish your borders from the Red Sea to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the desert to the River. I will hand over to you the people who live in the land and you will drive them out before you”). At present, the right to the land is in great conflict. Most Arabs refuse to recognize Israel’s right to the land or even to exist in the Middle East. But God is not concerned with what man thinks about such matters. God has promised that in a future day he will fulfill His covenant to Abraham and establish Israel’s borders from Egypt to the Euphrates River. The new boundaries will be much more extensive than Israel’s current borders and may include the lands from Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, western Iraq, and northern Saudi Arabia. If the entire river is meant for the northeastern boundary, then Israel’s land will extend across most of the Mideast unto ancient Babylon.

It depends on the basis they build their prediction on and I meant to say that I feel the hour is close not stating a fact , only God knows the time and facts .

Muhammad told as about many minor signs which all already happened before the big ones like those I said of corruption , oppression and natural disaster that we live today . He even said that Arab people will build hiiiiigh buildings as a minor sign . Also the construction of Israel is a strong sign for me , cause the anti-christ has to come in Jerusalem and lead the world from Jerusalem to make all people believe that he is the Messiah . This is something we are wetnessing today , Israel declared in 2010 the beginning to construct Solomon Temple . I'm not making morons . You don't feel how the world has changed , there is no longer good between people , we are living in the age of the ANTI-CHRIST .

I don't worship God with fear only but I also worship him cause he deserves to be worshiped and be praised for life , money and everything I've been given . I follow his rules , and do things he loves like helping the poor , fasting in Ramadan , praying and feeling the amazing feeling when I'm close to him . The fear is a part but can never be everything .
