My point is that you can't attack the UK for things it once did if you're going to excuse the USA for things it once did. You also attack the UK for particular laws you disagree with but when anyone points out that the USA has equally ridiculous laws you just excuse it by saying you don't agree with them as though everyone in the UK agreed with every law here and the USA is somehow a special case.

Bob, what does the past have to do with today...or did you just read into what Chaz said INSTEAD of whathe actually wrote.

All Chaz wrote was 2 simple statements of fact.
Fact:
1. The draft is active in the USA.

(notice he didn't write : The draft is being implemented in the USA today.)

2. We do not tax at 95%.

(now he could have been more clear by saying that the UK does not tax at 95%, but I think it is implied by his other posts as to what he meant)

I don't know if the second statement is fact or not...as I don't know if today at this moment the uk has a 95% tax rate on anyone. But if it does not...the the statement is presently a fact. What happened in the 50's and 60's is irrelevant to today's facts.

So why do you get your feathers ruffled over a simple observation from Chaz? Is it because aesthetically speaking...his posts irk you? Possibly because some of them were less than flattering? Wait a minute, although registering for selective service may be in effect, there is no current draft in the USA. For there to be a current draft, people have to be currently drafted, and that is simply not true. I hope I don't have to put you in the same idiot category as Chaz and Arising.
