Well, I'm supposed to be an American, as I was born, and I'm currently living, here in America, and I seriously believe that the USA was either directly or indirectly responsible for 9/11, as the energy issue is the hugest of concerns for the rich coveting more money, and everyone else might agree. It's a fucking shame, but unfortunately I believe it's true.
You may be right but I don't think we're privy to enough evidence to conclusively say so and I usually tend to favour the cock-up theory over the conspiracy one. Of course, I'm not in the know, and all indicators are circumstantial, and that neither means they necessarily did nor didn't orchestrate it. But knowing human nature as I do, knowing the importance that's lent to energy, knowing of the factual occurrences of other despicable, unethical practices by the Powers That Be (PTB) in the US, watching the events as they transpired, paying particular attention to their total plan as opposed to the results actually achieved in the attack, and especially Bush's response, throughout the event, considering his ties to various people and organizations/companies, considering his decisions in it's wake, considering the totality of the potential benefits realized by the US, now that things are settling as they are. Yes, I seriously believe it's true, that it was more or less engineered, if you will, as a means to set a course of action in motion that the American people would believe, in the face of such a terrible event.
Also, unless anyone is claiming that the USA is covertly organising or abetting all terrorist activity it seems a bit presumptuous, and possibly a touch arrogant, to think that no one could have pulled off 9/11 without their help. Who said this? I don't think that the potential for the US PTB being responsible for 9/11 indicates that this is necessarily so. As a matter of fact, I see this as a convoluted proposal that comes out of nowhere. I see no substance in your words whatsoever.

I believe that the US could have orchestrated it, sure. But what's that got to do with the facts of the event, such that anyone here necessarily knows. It's not about winning or loosing anyway. It's about the question of truth in the face of possibilities.
