Part of the problem is the assumption that humans "behave". A colloidal solution 'behaves; a bacteria in a nutrient medium behaves; and fish in a school behave. Humans are more sophisticated and tend to act with volition, consideration and thought.artisticsolution wrote:SpheresOfBalance wrote:
I said, Check out wikipedia and look up "Comparative psychology" and "Ethology." To find out where your ignorance lies!
Um...okay first of all...I don't give a fuck what wikipedia says...it's all a bunch of crap. I give very little credence to human psychology so what makes you think I would give a crap about "dog psychology."
It is almost impossible to know what makes humans behave the way they do and they can actually tell you! Why the hell do you think you can even begin to understand animal behavior? You need to get off the lala liberal merry-go-round cause your beginning to make us all look like a bunch of assholes.
Jesus....seriously? You are going to believe that bogus bunch of crap? I suppose you believe everything Freud said too!![]()
The gullibility of mankind never ceases to amaze me.
If you look to think of people as animals then you can only talk about them as animals.
Behaviourism is a reductionist account. What this thread's title and Behaviouralism has in common is that Behaviouralism also takes tow or three casual factors and compares them. In this case Black skin and crime.
It then applies a causal assumption. In this case genetics, and then assumes that the connection is genetically caused, for this we have the metanarritive of race.
Well there is a big problem here. When a person decides to commit a crime he or she do not ask their genes for permission; there are very complex sets of reasons to do with the identification of crime, the commission of crime, and the media attention that some crimes get over others. The biggest crimes in our society are committed quite legally by CEOs, bankers and financiers. Is it because they are Jews, or Caucasians? Do we even consider what genetic factors urge Alan Greenspan, or Ben Bernanke to act like evil morons? Why is it we so easily accept blanket coverage of Young Black Males on our TV screens. Why do we not spend more time following bankers and sellers of derivatives around?
Genes simply do not explain the position of blacks in society. For that you need to look at myth, prejudice, otherness, and social construction of ethnic fallacies.
