Should we dump the dusty books and dance around a fire singing songs to the moon ?
What do you reckon ?

I heard it directly from a woman who a was a member back in the early '70s that there was plenty of lesbian activity going on in Zsuzsanna Budapest's coven. With many of the girls also having bisexual yearnings which the aforementioned one indulged later. So if the original feminism gets watered down to where men can join or be somewhat affiliated with that version of neo-paganism, then howling at the Moon might have a few things in its favor.

I am new to reading philosophy, I can't compare yet.JasonPalmer wrote:ooo er could be more interesting than reading philosophy !
There are many strands to Wicca. You can follow aspects which appeal to you on a pick 'n' mix basis, be part of a group or remain solitary. A religion for modern times perhaps?
For anyone interested, I recommend reading the fictional novel The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley, inspired by Dion Fortune's view of the Arthurian legend, as starting point. It is available in both hard copy and kindle format.

Sounds like fun, maybe there is a point to all this.thalarch wrote:I heard it directly from a woman who a was a member back in the early '70s that there was plenty of lesbian activity going on in Zsuzsanna Budapest's coven. Are you allowed to watch?

A word of caution Chaz - be careful what you wish for, as the Goddess may truly grant it lol.chaz wyman wrote:Are you allowed to watch?
I am sure you could find a coven in your locale to accommodate your wish but I expect your experience may be very different at a Zsuzsanna Budapest affiliated coven, even if your attendance is purely for academic research
Other points to note are (1) Hammer films lied to us - not all covens are filled with vivacious, volumptous witches dancing skyclad - I refer you to the Budweiser Spain ad http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 3588557514 ; (2) the next big festival is Beltane, from sunset on 30 April to sunset on 1 May - perhaps the best option for you but bear in mind the focus is on fertility unless you want a new bundle of joy in the spring I'm not sure if 'Child of the Goddess' washes with the CSA.

It was also self mocking that I should start with a comfortable rather than challenging topic.
