Kayla,

It is truth that your thread 'title' speaks of falsehood, as you generalize the grown-up population, assuming that by stating, 'grown-up's' you mean adults, then it's not fair to the adults that agree, that the child's parents may be perpetuating bigotry.

You know of the separation, but what about what's been said behind closed doors? We'll never necessarily know for sure, but the action of the separation could have been the preamble to creating yet another short sighted bigot! Of course I hope not!

If you are a lesbian, don't take what they did personal. It's not your problem, it's theirs, and quite possibly their child's, unfortunately. I for one, don't necessarily believe that children of her age should have to deal with such issues.

I seriously doubt that she would have actualized her 7 year old's desires anyway, there's a lot of chemical changes coming her way and I seriously doubt that wanting to marry her 7 year old girl friend shall stand the test of time.

Just keep in mind that groupism has a tendency to fail all parties involved. Is it true that somehow 'grown-up's is synonymous with 'homosexuals' in some instances? Food for thought, I believe!

i have a twin brother when were around that age we wanted to get married

our parents who are somewhat sane did not make an issue of it - even though they are definitely opposed to incestuous marraiges

but we did shock a few more uptight people my announcing that we are going to get married when we grow up

some of them would start going on about hwo if we did that we d have retarded babies

of course adam and eve's children married each other and they did not have retarded babies

i got a reputation as a smartass early on

and no i do not want to marry my brother i love him an awful lot just not in that way

I don't necessarily believe in Adam & Eve, but I'm aware that some people throughout history have had progeny after having sex with their family members and it has resulted in congenital birth defects . It's also true that it won't necessarily result in birth defects. It all depends on how different the genome is between those involved.

The idea is similar to that of farmers that swap cultures for cheese, yogurt, etc, between their neighboring farms, It's also true for mycelium requiring the swapping of medium. Apparently the genome requires challenge to remain hardy. If the organism remains in one particular environment for an extended amount of time it becomes weakened and prone to disease, and will die off. This can also be seen to be synonymous with the human immune system, which is why we vaccinate.

So two people from the same mother and father could have children that are unaffected as long as one inherits the majority of their genetic material from one of the parents and the other from the other parent. The thing is, does anyone really want to play craps with their progeny's life? I mean talk about irresponsible.... Wow! They might as well take a revolver with one bullet in, spin the barrel, and hand it to their child and tell them that there's juice in it, but they have to pull the trigger to get it out. (graphic visualization utilized to stress seriousness).

Of course I do not recommend this action to anyone, it's all about dramatic pointed effect.

Edit: Typo

no one

those who claim that their sole objection is to definitions of words are lying asshole shitbags

in reality this objection is a last ditch defense when every other argument against same sex marriage fails as they always do

due to you know lack of good arguments against same sex marriage
The term marry etymologically is thought to mean 'to provide with a women'.
etymology does not define meaning

are you going to say that Lex luthor is a super peasant?

he is if etymology == meaning
The thing is that many people don't get past first base with the word marriage being used in this way. They feel that it will lose the meaning it has always held for them and their ancestors. Its understandable; look at what happened to the word gay.

I don't know who/what Lex Luther is. Naturally, etymology doesn't create the meaning of a word. It's there to help one learn about the meanings of words.

By extension many people that are older than you are also wiser for the same reason.
So you are sort of shooting yourself in the foot, with your premise.

can't be a matter of just a few trips around the sun

THIS EXACTLY REFUTES YOUR HEADER.

plenty of my peers have poorer impulse control and judgement than Clara

and it is manifestly obvious that plenty of grownups are stark raving batshit insane and would not know wisdom if it hit them in the had with a locomotive
All grown-ups are stupid.????

Please tell me at what age are you suddenly going to turn stupid?
Maybe you already have with such a daft statement as your header.

Quite right, Kayla, the world's full of them. So what are you going to do? Insult them? Kill them? Tell them they're beyond insane?

You'll be coming into contact with them for the rest of your life a lot of the time, won't you? So what will you do? You can't just make them vanish!
No she is going to join them - one day she will grow-up too!!

maybe the header should have been

everyone is stupid

or more specifically teenagers have no monopoly on irresponsibility and generally being dicks

from what i have seen in terms of self control

ability to accept responsibility for ones actions

politeness

and generally having a regard for feelings and well being of others

adults are no better than teens

but they almost universally believe otherwise

and as far as homophobia goes i can think of no one among my peers who would freek over two little girls wanting to marry each other

plenty adults do freak out over that sort of thing

I don't go to the movies. I lived without tv and other technologies for years.

Okay.
But I think you need to get out more.
I'm guessing your 'community' is very small with everyone knowing what everyone else is doing.
In those places hypocrisy is often common place.
I prefer to live in a god less community where people can live their lives and be honest about it.

Okay. How often does the vote get taken, and are there any minimum qualifications for the job?

You have to remember in the UK the police are wholly professional and there is an administrative distance between the government and the policing service which we still cherish.
