An interesting question: Your bookshelf and the World.

I had a friend ask me this question recently, and I wanted to share with you guys. By some sort of freak super weapon, all people and signs of human civilization will soon be destroyed. The mad scientist who created this weapon, interested in what kind of civilization would be founded afterwards, de...

Re: post your books (bio)

Interesting I have none of these, but when I get a chance I'll take a picture of some of my cognitive science books and post them.

Re: Who wants a soul?

Since every example of conscious behaviour emanates from brain matter and seems to cease when the brain stops working. But again you're stating something important to the question which might be wrong. We do not know from where consciousness emanates. It could be a fundamental property of the unive...

This is honestly just an intelligent guess. There is no evidence to support your claim, because fact is we don't have a clue how consciousness is produced.

Our intuitions evolved. You can find the research in most neuroscience textbooks. The specific experiment with the babies, it was done by the Yale psychologists Kiley Hamlin, Karen Wynn, and Paul Bloom. The research was done in 2007. I think there is a link to the puppets they even used at http://w...

Re: The Universe: And its alignment

Can you cite your Einstein reference? Given what Einstein I have read, this comment seems like a joke. My apologies, I read it in a Psychology Today article and assumed it was true. Wikiquote, however, has it listed under "mis-attributed" A joke indeed!! You do know the meaning of a mis-a...

Re: Why all so-called rational moral systems are doomed to f

If our morals aren't rational and more intuitive, then how do you believe they arose? Either answer seems to me to suggest objective morality. Do you believe in Objective Morality?

Also do you care to link me to the study. :D

The Universe: And its alignment

I feel this is a metaphysical question, but maybe it's not. Either way I'm posting it here. Einstein was once asked if he could go forward to the future and find out one thing about the Universe what would it be? He responded that he'd go forward and find out if it was Friendly or not. Is the univer...

Love Jung. Have a lot of his books on my book shelf. Would really like to read the Red Book, but it's like one hundred and something bucks on amazon.
