Re: The Argument That Prayer, True Prayer, Does Not -
Interesting and that's another way of stating what I said. I wish humanity would stop identifying with this chatter (which consists of fanatical ideologies, dogmas, -isms, beliefs and superstitious beliefs) and be in the moment.

Re: The Argument That Prayer, True Prayer, Does Not -
It seems so simple: to be in the moment without clinging to thought. Yet it is so difficult since without thought, "I" am dead, so the "I" has to propagate itself through thought till physical death brings an end to this.

Re: Christian apology by a non-Christian
The problem is with the radicals who miss the essence or spirit of any religion and insist on the peripherals of dogmas, beliefs and rituals.

I read the interesting comments and never thought my post would evoke deep discussions. Thanks to Immanuel for this. I must acknowledge that I am not a physicist nor am I a philosopher though I have dabbled in both. In the first place, I need to acknowledge that I perhaps did not word my first propo...

Re: Christian apology by a non-Christian
I think the dogmas, doctrines, beliefs, rituals, holy books, philosophies traditions etc. are not the most important aspects of a religion. These things evolved over time and are rooted in human-social-political contexts than any thing else. In fact, I feel any intelligent person needs to transcend ...

Click on the link below to view the photo of the earth taken by a space craft near Saturn posted by Nasa. Earth looks like a tiny dot in the sky. Re: #6th: Thou CAN Kill - if You Get the OK From Corporate F
The government is often dictated by the corporate world. Or in other words, the corporate world is the government. For example, the arms manufacturing corporates need war and so that they can sell arms. So war and killing is not murder for them. Instead of reading literally what Bill has posted, why...

Re: No Missing Link
Any person who can think rationally can see the absurdities of most religions. You don't even need scientific proof. Fortunately science clears a lot of misconceptions like the creation theory that talks about first parents in the garden of Eden and its literal understanding. Life and the universe i...

Re: Arguments of an Agnostic. Dialogue 2: The Logical Incons
Logically, something cannot come out of nothing. So the concept of ex-nihilo would mean going away from logic to magic or going beyond logic. Magic would be the realm of childish fantasies. But is there something beyond logic? Could be. If there is, then we are in no position to know it, since ratio...
