Short philosophy videos

You are invited to watch my non-monetized philosophy videos on You tube in my channel Dexter, the Doubter under the playlist Philosophy. I also recommend the playlist Technology, which also contains philosophical topics. Each video consists of PowerPoint presentations lasting only about a minute.

Re: I'm straight and tired of gay pride

Why are there no straight pride parades? Or cancer pride parades? Maybe gay acceptance parade is more appropriate that gay pride parade. I have reservations about being proud of anything. I'm not even proud of being human.

Re: Homosexuality: The Voice of Nature

I think homosexual identity, orientation, and desires are beyond ones control and not one's choice, but homosexual activity is at least sometimes controllable and one's choice.

Re: Does gender matter?

I guess all these discussions mean that gender and sex matters a lot. Suppose God will judge us, does it matter what our sex or gender is?

Re: The Golden Rule Does Not Work

Maybe a better version goes like this: Do onto others what is good for them.

How about something based on Kant's Categorical Imperative: Do what you would have all people do.

Re: A fresh approach to morality

Both humans and animals have some rationality and some sense of morality. However, animal morality is instinctive, but human morality is rational. Some morality in humans is instinctive, but instinctive human human morality is the same to that of animals.

Re: AI and Crypto Currency

AI is like recreational drugs. They are both addictive and highly profitable.

I think we need three things:
1. Enlightenment about AI
2. AI regulation
3. AI safety

Re: Dangers of technology

Don't you think that reflecting about a stimulus is also reactionary, in which the reflection is the reaction to the stimulus?

Re: Dangers of technology

An example of technology is AI. Like any other technology, it should be treated only as a tool, and not more than that. As a mere tool, all AI outputs should be checked and approved by humans, who shall make the final conclusion and decision. AI AI can write for me And read a book for me But I’ll wr...

Most important of all for me Is You, Lord, my necessity Every gift I have comes from you All the goodness and kindness to...

Does gender matter?

There used to be only two genders – male and female – but now we see a proliferation of more than twenty genders. For some people, their gender and pronouns are big deal, but for me, I don’t care what my gender is or of people mistake my gender. What matters to me is my character, whatever my gender...
