Politicians Pander to a Gullible American Public

These idiots say America needs to be energy independent, whatever the fuck that means. They have no conception of economics at any level. Why not be rare earth independent or diamond independent or coffee independent? Unfortunately, these morons will never come close to studying economics in any way, shape or form. If they can't sell their grandmother down the river to get elected, their backup strategy is to preach energy independence.
