Tis a racket where people charge someone to teach them something so they can then charge someone else to teach them.
A pyramid scheme.

Whether they are wise or not is your decision. You are free to choose
Most people find some of them idiots, some of them "prophets of truth", and some people think they are all idiots, and proclaim themselves as prophets of truth.
Well some prophecy we need anyways, or we'd have no future to lay before us.
