Can you remember, when you were a child, you were afraid of something, night time, a person, a dream. Maybe you still have that irrational fear?

It seems No-0ne has.
I have huge fear of being crushed by rocks. [in dreams].
why. i have no idea. As i have no fear of caving. i would be good fun.
I fear humanity. It is stupid and cruel. and oft.. no species of mine.
when i was 5 .. the banksia man from May Gibbs the gumnut classics.
scared me .
but then i read about pooh. and all was well.
The future of our race is in the minds of our children.
teach them well.

I remember my mother would read that story to me The Adventures of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie and I was fascinated by the "mouths" all over those banksia men and their skinny hairy legs. I still have my book.
My greatest fear as a child was the boogie man.......... in the cupboard. Still is sometimes. LOL

No irrational fears but a quite rational one, acrophobia. Well perfectly rational to me, irrational to everyoe else. On the other hand I find everyone else irrational for not having it.

Good that somebody can ignite this forum some, it started to get real unnaturally quiet for a while now.
I got frightened of the burning of man on a fire when watching the movie "The Last of the Mohicans (1992 film)" -

I still remember it quite well.
But when it comes to fear, I've had lots of minor dislikes, from spiders to snakes, but outright fear or phobia I don't seem to possess much of, I can approach them both if necessary, except of course a phobia against being part of systems, though this developed much later but as a sum of my childhoods experiences of being controlled and bound.

I agree. I never even consider stepping close to 'edge'.
When asked . are you afraid of heights.. yes. not the height.. the bloody impact that results.
i respect gravity.
Then again i love flying. and would without a qualm step out to skydive.
Its the parachute you see. It makes all the difference in the world.
i even had a private license for a time. to fly light planes. boring..

'Dr. Who' terrified me as a child. It was a delicious terror though, like being tortured and enjoying it.
