the mere fact that such a regulation exists and that more and more especially in the south people think this is perfectly reasonable is scary

It will be struck down by the federal appellate courts, definitely, it is unconstitutional. That's the hypocritical part of the Republican party. They are all for government interference in our lives, as long as it pertains to sex or religion, they just want the government to stay out of their pocket books. It is a discriminatory law, fueled by ignorance, and religious fundamentalism, and will not survive.
