SEEK KNOWLEDGE NOT "THE TRUTH" - The Sermons of the Jesus Head
Many a young person believes that philosophy is a means of separating out
the truth in the world and when the truth is discovered then they will have the
power to make accurate decisions.
Of course, the truth , is the truth ,in the final analysis, but ,
where the truth rests , is another matter.

What we find in the world is a conspiracy to conceal the truth
since ,if the truth is revealed ,it may often be embarrassing for the powers
who manipulate public opinion.
And so truth is molded ,like a piece of clay ,until it adopts the shape
that the powers wish it to be.
Then they say : Look here is the truth. We endorsed it and we are the Great and the
Good so it must be the truth.

It is easy to be led into believing that the truth is a social figment in this sense,
but, the truth is not a piece of legislation.
So we find often that, law and consequences have their antecedents in error, not truth.
As a means of examining life ,it is not "the truth" that should be sought after,
but knowledge of "truth".

However, no single agreed upon definition of knowledge exists, though there are numerous theories to explain it.

While JTB has a the Gettier problem, knowledge must ultimately be reasonably and rationally true with reference to the future well-being of humanity.

Truth is always about conformance and consensus within some established and agreed framework and its rules. It is true that the Bishop can only move diagonally, the knight in an "L" form, etc. within the rules of chess. Scientific knowledge are true within the scientific framework comprising the scientific methods, assumptions, peer reviews, etc. In all cases of the 'games of truth', their truths must be aligned with reference to the future well-being of humanity.

Theistic knowledge and truths may be relatively 'true' within their specific framework and may be useful to the majority in this phase of humanity's evolution. However, theistic truths, i.e. white lies, in comparison to the empirical framework and its truths, are not effectively for the well-being of humanity in the future phases of human evolution.

Humanity must seek knowledge and reconcile truths that are dynamic and effective to deal with the existing reality that is always changing towards greater unfolding (as human knowledge expands) complexities.

Theistic 'truths' aka white lies that are immutable and carved in stone tablets are not effective to deal with the unfolding changing threats of greater complexities in the near future.

As such humanity should progressively and gradually wean off theistic knowledge and 'truths' from now onward to enable itself to deal effectively with impending greater and more complex threats of the future.
