What is the matter with Christians?
What utter arrogance!
I can't imagine anything more insulting.
A Christian country was responsible for the round up and murder of Anne Frank.
Now the final insult - they make her a fucking mormon!
Surely they would be more realistic to have Baptised Hitler into the Mormon Faith, at least he was Christian.

Let's see, she was murdered in Europe, wasn't she? Oh, yeah, and if you deny the so-called holocaust, you can be imprisoned in Europe, can't you? What a stupid, fucking continent!

The Mormon 'praying-in' is crazy from every perspective except that of the Mormons themselves.
Chaz, most Xians don't call Mormons Xian, cos they don't believe Jesus was actually God.
Warning to all. If the Mormon and Facebook data-bases ever get combined, the Great Satan will have us all by the pubes!

True. Most Christians don't call other Christians true Christians.
Where do we go from there?
Unitarians think Jesus was a man. Does that mean they are not true christians?

Have you heard of the No True Scotsman Fallacy.

Mormons Can be true Christians because not True Christian would believe what they do!
I don't see why I should not call them Christians - any more or less than any other group.

We can call them whatever we like. They don't like us calling them Mormons. much less morons.
Respondng to one sect's distasteful practise with a rant against all Xians probably creates more misunderstanding than clarity. "More heat than light' as someone said.
Some people who do really useful humanitarian work explain their actions with reference to their faith; (Jews, Sikh, Muslims and Xians all say their faith commands 'good works'). Others doing exactly the same work, in the same area, at the same time, might explain their actions with reference to their politics, their ethics, social conscience etc.
One of my political favourites (Tony Benn) bases his socialism on his Xianity.
Chacun a son gout, say I, being a bit of a consequentialist.
And yes I've heard of the No True Scotsman fallacy. It's not a useful defence against under-thinking over-generalisation, IMO. :D

Yes I love Tony Benn too, because he is an Atheist.

News to me. Maybe he's changed since he wrote his autobiography  .

But, but,. . . .surely you can't love someone BECAUSE he is an atheist?
Aren't there any atheists you just hate?

Sure but there are many more theist that are hate-worthy.

I'm puzzled by the Benn thing. Are you sure you don't mean Blair?
Tony Benn has been a life long advocate of dismissing religion from the state and to sack the bishops from Parliament.

Blair is a Catholic, and there is nothing more hateful than a Catholic. By rights he should be disbarred from any political office.
And when I say rights I literally mean The Bill of Rights?

Benn: all round good guy. Supporter of CND, pacifist, socialist. Calls the Us military terrorists

Let me get this straight. You're advocating that Catholics should be banned from political office because they're "hateful" or is it just Blair who should be banned?

Do I need to put a  everytime I make a joke?

TB is hateful and a war criminal, he should be in prison.

But the other aspect to the joke is that out own Bill of Rights (1689) does in fact bar Catholics from all public office.

Speaking of Blair, it was rather cowardly of him to convert to Catholicism after he left office rather than forcing the constitutional issue when he was still PM. Whatever anyone thinks of organised religion the idea that members of a particular one should be banned from the highest office is ridiculous in a supposed democracy.

True, but it made a great amount of sense at the time, as the stability of Britain depended on it. And what followed was an unprecedented period of Religious Toleration, and political free-thinking that was the envy of Europe.
