The Ultimate Question,

the most important question.

Is the only question we cannot have an answer to.

We, as philosophers, we who have everything, stand at the edge of darkness and look.

And fight everything within us in hopes of seeing beyond ourselves. In hopes of seeing into the darkness.

What happens to us, as individuals, when we die...

What do we experience after death?

The other side?

What "other side"?

You are a godbotherer Bill, look to your religion for salve.

With all respect, I suggest that you either read or re-read this entire thread...beginning with the original post.

Read it slowly... when you are at peace within a moment.

Be still.

Perhaps that will help you understand.

You're pretty much a nihilist and a pessimist Bill. So I have looked at your post, its why I replied. You are asking questions that have no meaning.

One good thing about dying is that we will know the answer to this question at last.

I sometimes feel the presence of omniseeing ghosts. One time I stopped laughing at a passage in Zarathustra because I wondered if Nietzsche“s ghost was not able to see me somehow and this passage was not meant to be funny. I felt mean and ashamed of myself.

Or when we die, we will not know the answer to the question, because we will cease to be and will not be able to know anything.

In that case we will not be there to be disappointed.
So we will win in any case: either our curiosity will be satisfied or we will not be disappointed.

There is no Ultimate question, that is one reason why it can never be answered.

Ask it, and you ill then know what I mean!

Go on, given it a try!

I'm not surprised.

If he did not believe that death was an end Nietzsche would be turning in his grave.

I know this might sound strange to some.

I know I have detailed this in the past.

I know we never experience death.

I don't know anything else in this life for sure.
