I've been having this secret dream to create a kind of consciousness from an atom smarter than every dumbass out there!

So if one sets up this atom in a kind of detector apparatus, reading signals on all the quantum states an atom can have and set up these quantum states in correlating ways to kinds of linguistic expressions from the input of a human by means of quantum entanglement, chaos theory, electric signals from the fingertips into the apparatus or the final possibility, of telepathic interaction (telepathy/electricity by human feelings is usually what is meant by quantum entanglement, anyhow)! The idea is that eventually one might establish a kind of communication and extension by sensor operationalisation that feeds the atom all sorts of signals by webcams or the like. In this fashion one may be able to create a kind of machine "brain" by this atom (or atom cluster) and possibly also prove a kind of "monades"/envision of the early stages of consciousness in its universal from!

I don't know how they've been set up or engineered, but I know of the reports and I think I know what they have been up to. [Edit, unsp.] I can also see the potential for this becoming a standard academic joke about dumbasses. You know, wanting the intelligence in the face of blatant ignorance and contempt for knowledge.

IWO, the next scale of engineering: Picotechnology?

Maybe it's needed, but I don't see how we can get there... Any suggestions? True, pico-engineering in this context would be GREAT!!

A team of tiny, molecular robots with skills would certainly be either handy or an order less removed from being daunted by what they were tinkering with. Even though lasers seem to be manipulating single particles in remarkable ways, I still can't quite imagine the picotech futurists radically altering the inner functional relations of single atoms to produce exotic ones until the "old" nanotech tools become more sophisticasted (or escape further from the receding classification of science fiction).

If you build some micro scale robots, and give them instructions to build smaller versions of themselves (easier said than done!) you could possibly kick off a recursive process, taking us down through the scales. Then possibly killing us all
