Girl Guides now say only girls can join

On the one hand this is very welcome news, obviously, but on the other, just shows how insane our times are, or have been, until very recently. They still haven't decided what to do about all the boys who have already joined, though.

I was involved with the Guides at school, which was good fun. The boys had their own Scout group, but we were mostly separated from the boys anyway, with our own campus and dorms.

You mean they won't be allowing 50 year old men who identify as 10 year old girls to join? That's shocking transphobia!

This can only be a be a gift to the trans community. Now they won't have to experience the horror of actually being in Girl Guides.
When my son was 7 or 8 he expressed an interest in joining Cub Scouts. I've always disliked such groups (too much organization and not enough fun). But I took him to an introductory meeting. We sat on our hands for half a hour while some troop leader blathered endlessly about nothing. Finally, I looked at S., made a fsce, and signed "time out" using the universal sports signal. S. knew exactly what I meant, and signed "time out" back to me. We left. I suspect that Girl Guides are just as bad.

I always liked the outdoor stuff, such as orienteering. We also did first aid, creative song and dance, theatre, and things like that. I imagine the school liked them exactly because of the organisational aspect of it, and in any case, we were probably not a typical group.

They can join the boy scouts where they belong.
It's a shame it went downhill like everything else. Boy scouts used to learn lots of really useful, practical 'outdoorsy' stuff and it was expecially good for boys who might have lost their father in wars etc. As usual there were predatory men who twigged that it was an excellent way to get access to children. Children can't do anything without those opportunistic bastards ruining it for them.
Now the scouts have become yet another propaganda tool for the LGB+++'endlessly growing alphabet' crap.

To each his or her own. Just because I dislike overly organized outings, merit badges, and pack mentalities doesn't mean everyone needs to. Take the whole topic to first principles, why must a name be conventional, universal, and not unconventional, particular? Why ask a question, but display that we have no ability to answer it because we demand the wrong answer of ourselves?

At least young woke british lesbians aren't banned from her majesty's girl scouts. You can even be female and identify as a bloke... that's how you avoid being just a lesbian that wants to shag other girls.
