Never heard of Graham Oppy, but I can recommend a book by John D Barrow.

Absolutely.

As a starter, try Andy Bannister's The Atheist Who Didn't Exist. It's clear, straightforward, witty, charitable and readable. I think you'll enjoy it.

Nobody has any recommendations for you here. And I see nobody did on Reddit either. One of this guy's books is called "Atheism: The Basics", if that's not an easy enough entry point then he's not the right author for you.

It's not. But unless you think Oppy's the only person that can write a good book, why does that matter?

Even though I do not think Oppy is the only person who can write a good book, my question was specifically about his books. I obviously wasn't looking for random recommendations about random books/authors.

After Fairy told you (s)he had never heard of Oppy, you replied simply:

"Does anyone have any recommendations?"

It appeared like a more open request. And I had a recommendation.

It wasn't an open request. I meant it as an extension of my original post, since I didn't get an answer to my original question. I specifically quoted my original post when I asked if anyone had any recommendations.

Then it was ambiguous. The context certainly seemed to imply a more open request. However, you're not obligated.

It was not. Given that I had quoted my original question that asked for a recommendation of Oppy's book, the context was pretty unambiguous.

You've found your Christian to argue with. You raised the question months ago. Perhaps by now you are in a position to recommend an Oppy book for mister Can to read. Have the tables turned yet?

If not, one must wonder at such remarkably indolent tables.

I see you feel so. As I said, you are not obligated. No harm, no foul.
