Hello,
I am, has you can tell. a newly registered member and in accordance with the submission process I am explaining why I wish to join.
I have always enjoyed the desire to learn about things, ever since I was young I'd love to go to exhibitions and museums and I'd happily spend long periods of time in libraries just enjoying looking through all the books. I'd love just seeing all that knowledge and wisdom before me and all around me.
Now, as an adult, I still enjoy visiting museums, art galleries, exhibitions etc, basically anything that explores culture and understanding. I also enjoy watching all manner of documentaries on TV, especially ones about history and travel documentaries on foreign countries, customs and religions.
In regards to the actual philosophy aspects of this forum this for me started back in 2022.
At that time of my life I was going through a very hard time emotionally, and for a lot of personal reasons I was becoming seriously stressed and anxious. It was then that I decided to contact a therapist who specialized in emotional counseling.
Over the last three years we've become quite good friends, and through her kind support and understanding I have come to understand and overcome all my problems.
I am now in a much happier and my life is now in a much better place then it ever has been, and I am thankful for that.
During the course of these sessions she saw a quiet, thoughtful and indeed inquisitive side to my character that she thought would be good for me to nurture and develop, so she started introducing to all manner of ideas, concepts and techniques for me to explore, such has meditation, yoga (I now attend a weekly class) which has really helped me focus and calm my mind when I need to.
But perhaps one of the most key aspects is that she's introduced me to all manner of authors and literature that she feels will continue to help expand my mental wellbeing and free thinking.
Through her I've learnt about all aspects of New Age thinking and developing cognitive thoughts.
Perhaps the two best examples she has shown me are Ram Dass and Eckhart Tolle, the former being an example of how to develop compassion and understanding towards others and the latter is an author who puts forward to the people to learn to embrace the perception of what "The Present" is and therefore improve their own mental state and wellbeing.
Those are just two of the authors that I've learnt about but there has been (and still are) many other texts and books I've looked into over this time and I must say this has been a genuinely fascinating experience. Now my whole life and world around me has changed how I see it consciously
My whole outlook on life and the world around me seems so much clearer and concise, I feel there's so much clarity in my mind now it feels quite amazing. She has mentioned herself just how much I've changed has a person in the time I've known her, she's says a complete transformation of character and personality, and she's convinced that I'm in the process of experiencing some form of spiritual awakening, something I never thought I could experience.
This sense of enlightenment has been an amazing experience for me, and if you are willing as admins, I would be happy to engage and discuss with others here on all the myriad discussions, if they are okay to accept me?
Set course for the discourse!
