I knew you would show up to defend your hero. It was 1942 actually, under Roosevelt. That's long enough ago for there to still be craftsmanship and beauty in architecture. Trump has no right to do ANYTHING to it sctructurally. He's only there temporarily and it doesn't belong to him anyway. It belongs to all Amercans. You should be outraged. Would you be OK with him painting the outside of the White House gold and removing the columns one at a time-- replacing them with 'T R U M P' columns? How about a huge, glass box penthouse plonked on the roof? The lawns and gardens at the front replaced with concrete? Actually his tramp of a wife did destroy some of the gardens.

There shouldn't be a president residence because there shouldn't be any presidents. But history went the wrong way and here we are.
