And here is a clip of Kimmel celebrating Rosanne Barr getting fired by ABC over a tweet.

And now that HE's the one getting fired for his big ugly mouth, suddenly this is a free speech issue?
Bullshit.
Kimmel still has freedom of speech. He has not been deprived of life, liberty, or property by the government. He can stand on a street corner and make all the vile jokes he wants. He can write a blog, start a Substack or a podcast, write a letter to the editor of the New York Times.
Nobody has a Constitutional right to a network tv program. His employer made a business decision. Nexstar, an owner of numerous ABC affiliates in conservative areas of the country, took him off the air. Sinclair, another owner of many local tv stations, was about to do the same. ABC saw the writing on the wall and took him off the air nationally.
If you mocked someone who'd just been assassinated, you would not be punished by the government. But your employer might well decide that you are bad for business.
And what the hell is it with the left? JFK had many political enemies. I don't recall anyone making jokes when he was assassinated. Same with Bobby. Same with MLK. And more to the point, nobody made jokes when George Wallace, a rabid segregationist (and good Democrat) was shot and paralyzed for life.
A 31 year old husband and father, whose thing in life was going around and engaging in peaceful, civil dialog with people who disagreed with him, was just murdered in cold blood.
If you can't manage a shred of human decency, then at least shut the fuck up.
What the hell happened to the left?

The Kimmel suspension draws back the curtain and reveals that a small number of companies control the media.
You are saying that before yesterday you did not know that? If so, I say you are woefully ill-informed. Look up media consolidation. Clear Channel. It's been going on a long time. A very small number of companies decide what you see on tv and what you hear on the radio.

And that these companies are easily being manipulated by the Trump administration.
Like when Congress hauled Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg in to testify and told them to toughen up on content moderation, and they started throwing conservatives off their platforms? Like when Twitter banned the sitting president, Trump, in the middle of his reelection campaign?
Man the hypocrisy is thick lately.
